lal - I can SOOOOOOO understand. My husband and I have been living apart for almost 1200 days now. I've gone over for 2 weeks each year. He is living in Sale, near Rabat with his family. I can only get two weeks vacation each year. He's been there since November of 2003.

I checked out your timeline after I saw your post! The delays just are crazy :( . I hope you soon find an end to it.

I have gotten so angry and depressed over the whole process at times. Now that we are in the home stretch...I'm about to go mad!!!!!

It's absolutely pathetic that so many people have to go through such heartbreaking lengths without their families. We've really had problems with the whole system.

Good Morning everyone!

I am just so sad to hear when I hear about these long waits for approvals. These waits are just absurd. (F)

I was hoping to sleep in this morning, but the electricity flickered at 6am triggering the alarm to go off. What a really annoying sound! so I got up, walked the dog, watered the plants and plopped myself here on the computer where I have stayed since.

I have a huge craving for those cake-like donuts this morning. Anyone know what kind I am talking about?

Good day everyone! I am exhausted. Reda came yesterday. He got through POE at JFK with no problems and quickly. However, not the same for his flight from JFK to ATL. It was supposed to be here at 9:50 and it didn't get here until 1:00 am. Then we had a 2 hour drive home. Went to bed just after 4 am to be up for work at 6 am. Glad that I only had to work half a day. Well, off to introduce him to the North East Georgia mountain culture. This should be interesting. I'll let you all know. Have a great day!

deemabrouk - how long have you guys been on AP? Is it just me, or is everyone of Arabic ethnicity put on AP forever?

backpages - are you talking about the Sweet Sixteen donuts that have the white powdered sugar? OMG, I could eat a BAG of those all by myself!!!!

no powdered sugar, but i think the donut inside is similar. When they are fresh and warm...ooh yummy.

well I am having a wonderful day so far, first thing this morning I talked to my husband for him to say that he just left Royal Jordanian cos he dropped off his luggage and that he was going home to family and friends then he was going to try and get some sleep cos in 15 hours he will arriving at the airport :dance::dance:

I made sure that i told him how to use the payphone thanks to someone posting that on the board before so that he can call from Chicago after he is done at the POE. I told him don't worry if he doesn't have time if he is held up and has to get on the connecting flight and he assured me that no matter what he will call even if he has to ask someone on the plane before cell phones have to be turned off to use the phone.

I feel like a mom trying to get her child ready for the first trip away from her, and he kind of told me "hey I am not a child I have traveled before and I promise I know how to take care for myself!"

We are staying the night in San Francisco and I want to show him some of the city before we come home. I will make a quick post when we get home to let everyone that we are together and home.

I know tomorrow I will be so worn out when it is time for his plane to land but I am sure the adrinaline will kick in. LOL

Well. I gotta admit that my AP is NOT as long as the others... My husband had his interview on 5/23/07.. BUT it is KILLING ME that everything is Done.. Approved... yada ya.. and they just CANT stamp the FREAK'N VISA!!!!!!!!!!! Even the DOS people said there is NO REASON for his visa NOT to be stamped !!!

I look around this site... and Every country besides ME countries i guess.. they get their Visa a couples days to a week later..

Almost eveyday Mohamed asks me to Email the embassy...

I just feel like tantruming on the floor cause "ITS NOT FAIR!" :ranting:

Now I am even more sensitive to the "Well when IS mohamed gonna be here?" questions :diablo:

He was not here for our One year anniversay... mostly likely he will not be here for my 30th birthday..

I am gonna have a VERY hard time dealing with this... cause at this point.. there is NO REASON for his visa NOT to get stamped NOW!!!!!!!!!

:cry::cry:

I can understand being this close the end and it driving you crazy.

I'm sure we've got at least a 6 month wait still and that's if they approve our waiver. We've been battling with the immigration system since 2001 and I'm more anxious now than I've ever been. It's going to be hard to imagine our lives without having to deal with this mess.

It was really hard for us when I was pregnant. We didn't think that I could have babies and when I went to visit my hubby in 2005, I came back with a present!!!! Our boy was born in March '06. My husband wanted me to write all of these human rights groups...anything to help him get home to his boy. I've written the state governer, Dept. of State, Condi Rice and even a letter from the president. A BIG FAT NOTHING from all of them. Our congress Rep said we could actually file a complaint on the local CIS office because they held my husband's file for 9 months for no reason, but the person suggested waiting to do that until we had a favorable decision as it could affect our case. That was 3 1/2 years ago. What #######!!!!

But the truly sad thing is that I KNOW there are thousands of people like us that have similar stories. The whole thing is just sick, isn't it.

I truly wish a speedy, but wonderful end so that ya'll can be together with no worries.

Oh, I forgot to say too, how awful it was to go through the birth of our son without my husband to be there. He's missed so many wonderful moments in our little boy's life. It just makes me want to scream at these people and ask them if they even have a heart!!!

But then we are just a number.

My biggest fear is that our son won't ever be as close to his daddy because he hasn't been here with him everyday. Our son is 16 months old. I just hope that my husband gets home before our boy starts to remember him NOT being around. :(

Hachemi has been studying for his driver's permit. The driver's license place is one street over. I can actually see it from our house. He wanted to go by himself so he walked there this morning. He came home with a driver's permit!!!! Between shuffling Hachemi and my son here and there, I feel like a taxi cab. He needs a lot of practice before he can get his license. It's kinda scary riding with him driving.

Congrats on the reunions!!!

You guys that are not feeling well, I hope you are better soon.

Those waiting for visas, ap, aos. I hope it goes quickly.
