She posted in the family of citizen thread so I presumed  she was/knew the requirements
but yeah if she’s not all that happens is her mom is illegal after 6 months then potentially gets deported /has a ban if she overstays

some people are very short sighted when it comes to immigration  and pay for it long term (and yes some people do get away with it, but not everyone)

So I am not sure who do you think you are talking about but you are confusing me with somebody else big time. My mother is not 72 years old, she is 50 years old (just in case it mattered). Nobody is trying to make anybody’s mom lie to anybody. I asked a simple question that was simply answered by some people and that was more than enough until some of yall decided to make this a dramatic situation for absolutely no reason. I, myself have been going through, waiting, doing and paying for every step of the immigration process before and after I entered the country properly so I am not going to make my “72 year old mom” do it the other way. Before we “assume” anything lets pay more attention. Finally, like i said before thank you to everybody who properly and simply answered my question. I am not a citizen yet I am in the process and I wanted to see IF i get my citizenship while my parents here (not my 72 year old mom) could they apply even though they came on a tourist visa. My curiosity was only based on a conversation with my spouse about how all of our lives would be better and easier with them living with us especially after us having a child. I hope this answer satisfies those who were beyond curious and wanted assume stuff and blame me for something that doesnt exist.

You have not answered a simple question......Are your parents inside the US right now?

I was answering katherinep, a few posts above mine. Sorry for not being clear that reply was addressed to the question she posted in your thread and not to you, the OP. (I actually didn’t realize at that time she’d posted in your thread and thought the question was part of her thread. If you look at how she phrased her post here and in her own thread my answer would make a lot more sense. Not assuming anything about you but based on what she wrote.)

Okay thanks for clearing that up. I already thanked everybody when they cleared what i also wondered was right but it was getting too much so i stopped reading. When it comes to that person’s question I don’t think I would be asking this question if my parents werent here but again a lot of people simply validated what i knew was possible so i am good. Thank you again everybody!
