Is my case completed?

Hi all,

I have a simple question, that I would appreciate your help with.

I received an email about a month ago from the NVC with the subject line "Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified" NVC has received all documents and fees, and will work with the consulate etc...

However when I check case status online it still says "Case at NVC", shouldn't it say "approved" or "DQ" or something like that? Or is it only because all the embassies are still not processing the cases so technically the case hasn't moved to the next phase, even though everything is ok. I know this is probably a simple question, just want to double check.

Another question, in regular times, how long does this part of the process take until the interview?

Thank you very much!

Once all you documents shows as accepted. Your documents are qualified.
it wont aay approved or dq. Just accepted. You have the email as well that says all your documents are qualified. Thats it. You dont have to do anything else until you get your appointment letter.

it will say “at NVC” until you get your interview appointment.

Your consulate will let NVC know that your turn has come for interview and NVC will send your application  to consulate and an email to you for the date.

your status will remain at NVC until you get your interview date.

Read the message that came on your ceac portal. If J1 is not accepted they may have sent you a message about that.

Every other documents are accepted but no note on J1.

dont wait for their email. They take weeks to respond to that. Call them.

Maybe i should ask my husband if he has a chance to call them monday.
it'd get too expensive for me to call them and be on hold for 30 minutes or whatever

Once your consulate resumes routine IV interviews,  They will contact NVC with available dates.  Then NVC will begin assigning interviews for the cases at the front of your queue.  Once your interview has been scheduled, you will receive an email, and NVC will transfer your case to the consulate.

You are documentarily qualified.  The regular times answer depends on country.  Please complete your profile to include the country.
