The petition's approval expired, not the K-1.

A CO can extend a petition on the spot. usually they will do so at the interview. But stay in contact with the consulate so they are aware that you still intend to proceed. I doubt it will be an issue...most people are probably going through the same issue.

A new letter of intent to marry may be requested.

I agree lots of petitions are currently held back at NVC most are expiring already... Am sure there will be some plan to get them extended when embassies open. The 60days ban is almost up

What does the 60 day ban on certain immigrant visas have to do with anything?

YMMV

We got NOA2 more than 4 months ago but, because everything was closed, we weren’t able to do anthing and we haven’t filled out the ds160 application nor have we made an appointment. The petition is supposedly expired now. Will we be able to resume normally and will the petition get automatically extended?

I think it will get automatically extended bc the embassy contacted me and said that my case was closed due the Covid19 but as soon as the open they will provide updated information. So let’s wait...
