Questions regarding Traveling outside of the US after Marriage

obtaining visas for Thai nationals can be difficult to obtain and expensive. having to plan and wait doesn't allow for foot loose and fancy free traveling.

It's usually not that big of a deal, the US is an exception.

I'm not sure how you can say that...the time and expense to secure a visa are a big deal to go to Europe. Believe me, I've lived it.

Yes, for EU countries, they're also expensive to visit. But there are many other countries to visit. And in any way, getting citizenship is much bigger headache.

I think you're missing the point. Most of the world is closed to Thai passport holders without a visa; obtaining a visa is a headache and requires time and money, whether the Thai person is in Thailand or in the US (ie, green card holder). Once US citizenship is granted and a US passport is obtained, the world opens up, which makes globetrotting easier.
