question about inconsistent information on form

The subject header may be misleading......

 

When we filled out the DS-160 for my inlaws, we didn't know the birthdates for my inlaw's parents so we filled in as don't know.  However now that we're filling out the DS-260 to bring them over, we found documents that has their birthdates.  My question is should I just fill out the same as DS-160 as don't know or should I actually put their birthdates down?  My wife's worry is if the inconsistent data between the two forms would cause an issue when comes application review on their end.

Honestly? You’re filing in an official immigration form under penalty of perjury. Write the truthful answer down.  If asked about the discrepancy they can be honest and say their daughter didn’t know before. They’ll need birth certificates to process anyway.

You enter all the information as accurately as possible EVERY TIME.....Entering "I don't know" is falsifying the document if you, in fact, it is untrue.

Always be truthful. "Don't know" was true previously, but not anymore because now you do know. If asked about it, you have a good explanation: you found documents.

Agreed with the above - always complete the forms honestly and correctly to the best of your ability.

I doubt this will be an issue...it's likely not material (and I'm assuming they didn't get the visas?).

 

They didn't know their own date of birth?
