NVC and Embassies Waiting Times now?

Hello, I saw on NVC website there taking about 4 months to review cases now. And with the Embassies closed for routine visa interviews since March 20th 2020 doesn't that mean Visa Interviews appointments are also back logged about 3 months currently? So all together about 7 months of waiting or more depending on how long they keep the visa interviews closed at the Embassies?

Or do some people think once the embassy reopens visa interviews they will pick the exceptions to the executive order (spouses of USC for example) and grant them visa interviews earlier so the back log isn't as long for certain people?

I would love to hear what others think.

And if other's think my math is right or if others have a different opinion.

There is certainly a backlog or IV cases at NVC.  Waiting time will be dependent upon how fact the consulates can schedule and conduct interviews for those already in the queue at NVC.  No one knows how long the "new" process will take when routine processes resume.  The waiting times for some consulates were already exceeding 3 months for some consulates before Covid.

Actually, you'll be seeing some movement soon as CR1, CR2 and IR1 and IR2 have been deemed mission critical. So as long as one can get medical done there will be interviews happening. It doesn't apply for adult children who are over 21 even if CSPA is at play.

Do you have a link to verify this and does this impact on consulate interviews? If its true this is great news!

Would this be for all embassies or just specific ones?

From what I’ve seen all embassies. Of course current conditions in each country would dictate if/when the panel physicians are doing the exams.

I wrote our embassy they were very fast replying like the next day and they said only emergency and mission critical visas were being issued right now. But I was like,

what's mission critical I've never heard of it before?

I'm also hoping that the wait list for interviews aren't as long as I think because maybe they will let the exceptions to the executive order jump in front of the line for interviews. Instead of such a back log and make people wait even longer.

Its also frustrating that they won't give us ANY estimate time on when they would reopen routine visa interviews. Its got me wondering WHY? They gave states estimated times to reopen everything.

Could you give the link/source of this info. Although it would be logical for this to happen, there’s nothing I can find to say it will
