Hello,

My sister (US citizen) filed a petition I-130 in the beginning of 2013. She has received a notice of action with application under process in the same month on 2013.

Recently (June, 2020), we have received USCIS status as "Initial Review" and then they written that they have updated some information.

My question is what does this "Initial review" mean? does it mean a immigration visa officer is assigned to look at my case as its been almost 8 years since my sister filed this petition for me. Any information regarding this matter will be highly appreciated. Here is the information below:

Receipt Number: xxxxxxxxxxx
Application Type: I-130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE
Your Case Status: Initial Review
On June xx, 2020, we updated your date of birth for your Form I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE, Receipt Number xxxxxxxxxxxx. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
