Biometrics Fee Refund Covid-19

Hi,

 

I paid the biometrics fee but was told recently that they’d use the fingerprints from a previously filed form due to Covid-19. Am I going to get a refund on the fee I paid?

I don't believe USCIS ever gives refunds for anything. Once you send them money, it's gone.

 

Just be happy that you won't need to show up at your local office for biometrics.

oh my sweet summer child, as others pointed out uscis doesn't give money back, would be nice if they did.

From USCIS Site:

When you send a payment, you agree to pay for a government service. Filing and biometric service fees are final and non-refundable, regardless of any action we take on your application, petition, or request, or if you withdraw your request.

When they sent you the letter saying they would use your previous fingerprints it also said they would not refund the fee. I received the same letter.

Hope the new norm after COVID-19 is that "USCIS will use your previous fingerprint".
