Another NOA1 Question

I still haven't gotten my hard copy in the mail yet, so I called USCIS and the guy reassured me that it will come eventually and it's not delaying the Visa process at all.

But then I was thinking about it and on the website where you can check your case status, it says that the form was mailed out to me and I should follow the instructions on it. Well, if I can't follow those instructions, it certainly IS delaying the Visa process.

I'm so frustrated. Any advice? USCIS said that I can't call back to inquire until it's been 45 days past the day that they mailed it, which would be July 7!

Did you send a check with the petition? If so, once they cashed it, the case number is on the back and you can use that to sign up for email notification on the USCIS website. As to not having the NOA1 holding up your case, how do you figure that? The NOA1 is only a receipt showing the USCIS has your petition. There aren't any instructions per se that would be holding up your petition process by not having the hard copy. The important one is the NOA2.

We received our NOA1 last month, and there are no instructions on it pertaining to a K1 petition. I am assuming that is what you are petitioning for as well. So for us its just sit and wait for NOA2. I would like to wager that its the same for you.

Timeline

ok...this is way after the fact, but the same thing happened to me and our timelines are only days apart. a few weeks ago i called USCIS and had to lie just to get a live person on the phone...i typed that i got an RFE in order to get directed, and then just explained my case to the girl...she couldn't tell me anything other than what the USCIS website says when i log in... that they mailed me a notice on 5/18 and to follow those instructions...but of course never got it. i asked the girl if that notice was an RFE and she couldn't tell me anything and suggested i make an appt. w/ an immigration officer downtown for more info. so i manage to get an appt. a week later...and after 1 1/2 hours of waiting [after my scheduled appt. time] i was told that I was in fact never mailed anything at all!! i tried to explain what the website says [and the girl on the phone confirmed] but the woman insisted that nothing was ever recorded as mailed to me... i couldn't believe this - i mean isn't it protocol?!? how would i ever know my case number if it wasn't for this site telling me about the back of the cashed check!! it's absurd. i asked if that ruled out the possibility of still receiving an RFE but she couldn't say for sure.... no promises.

*sigh

so i walked away with confliciting information from one very disorganized organization... clearly some problems going on there. hopefully we're all just in the same boat and will be with our hunnies soon enough! Good luck to you - hopefully we'll be out of the CSC soon!

April 17 - Mail K-1 to CSC

April 19 - Date received on return receipt from post office

May 17 - Package received by CSC

May 18 - Mystery NOA1 sent [or not sent] to me in another dimension

May 21 - $$$ check cashed

*no notice ever arrives.. I eventually figure out how to log onto the gov't website to find out the info and dates i listed above.

Aug 03 - I call USCIS for info, they can only confirm what website says

Aug 10 - Had appt.w/ an Immigration Officer...they deny ever sending any notice at all. Status shows "received" on my account - nothing more.
