I didn’t read all 28 pages of this thread, but I also have questions if anyone has updates/ rumours/ insider news (lol) of when the Montreal Consulate reopening?

the twitter post by the consulate was rather upsetting honestly, but why do I not feel surprised. Also, what is DQ?

DQ, is when all your documents are expected by the NVC. Therefore,  it means document qualified. They push you to the next step..that is good news to hear; for anyone at the NVC stage.

Very upsetting. I'm waiting on the embassy in Nairobi. My only hope is that after they focus on spouses and students, they will turn to K-1s.

For those of you wondering about Ankara, we just got our interview date today for late September. We did make an expedite request but was sent the notice of the interview before they told us whether the request was approved or denied. It is possible that it was just our turn to have our interview. I sent the request just 10 days ago but we were DQ on May 26th.

We also got our interview appointment for Ankara yesterday. We did not expedite.

I apologise for intruding on your post, but I keep wondering what does DQ mean?

DQ also has no meaning to K-1 applicants, the NVC doesn't interact with you much at all, they just forward it straight to the embassy.

US consulates and embassy in India will open from Aug 17. Follow official updates here:

Immigrant and nonimmigrant visas continue to remain closed unfortunately...but at least they are opening up their doors for interviews.

Ok this is a joke now!!! US Embassy in Zagreb Croatia will resume B1/B2 visas from August 18th... WHAT THE F*** IS GOING ON?! 😡 😡😡

Totally understand your frustration....I hope this just means that k1 will be at least interviewing next month. Fingers crossed for us all applying for K1s... we’ll get there.
