You and me both.....I struggle every day, and cry like a baby most days.  This has been awful.  But I think we are starting to see signs of hope.  For Mexico, I see that someone is getting a K-1 processed in Mexico City.  This makes me wonder if they will actually begin processing them in more consulates to help ease the back log.   I hope that is the case.   We all need some good news.  I am still hopeful for an appointment before the end of 2020.  PLEASE!!!!

Yes. I see small signs for hope. I keep telling myself soon they will focus on K-1s after addressing a few CR1 AND F1 cases, after all we also had appointments which were cancelled by COVID. So we are in line too. And it just isn't fair. We are humans too lol. Keep hope alive. You know hope can actually keep you alive so it's good to be optimistic 😂

I got this reply regarding K-1 visas. It seems they only focus on mission critical visas so we gotta make them make k1 mission critical.

I am not quite sure why they are not making K1 Visas Mission Critical. As American Citizens, we have gone about this the correct and legal way. Our needs are very important. We should keep pushing this issue.

Thanks for the update.

Good luck with this one. From what it looks like, if you are not the spouse of a US Citizen as evidenced by a marriage certificate,  they will not make your petition mission critical.

The only reason we aren't spouses is because of this process though. MOST k1 applicants would already be married if it wasn't for this long process. We only did it this way so we'd be able to see our loved ones faster and not have to wait the extra time to be together. Because we love each other.

Unfortunately freedom of choice is not equal to freedom from consequences. And this is why it always said, think long term/ the big picture before making a decision. Sorry pal.

For some of us the k1 was a better route due to multiple circumstances. All I'm saying is there's no reason it shouldn't be mission critical also. Most if not all of us would already be married if the process didn't take so long.

Not even Sweden. A very forgiving liberal country made fiancée and boyfriend/girlfriend not exempted from the entry ban into Sweden.

Except its not even about thinking long term or the big picture with this situation.

Literally nobody seen a pandemic coming and the ensuing travel bans. Obviously there are pros and cons with filing K1 vs IR1/CR1. Nobody would have lumped in Covid-19 with those cons in 2019 because it didn't exist. Obviously now, tragically, we know being a USC's spouse is the better option. We can talk consequences all we want but the reality is we couldn't prepare or consider this when starting our petition back in August, otherwise we would have made a better decision. Unfortunately we're not psychics.
