There are numerous articles stating that the decision to process at the local consulate is up to each consulate.

If you park your bias and use your energy to research this subject you will easily find the answers.

What bias? Clearly they have stated now that the decision is up to the individual mission abroad. But this is just being stated recently. You're the one in denial

You're blaming the administration for decisions being made at local levels.

More specifically, you're blaming the president for the consulates decisions.

Explain to me my bias?

That's not a bias. That was a fact. Until recently, local embassies have been given the green light to start the reopening process which is when they started to use the phrase "based on local conditions." I've watched numerous videos from immigration attorneys and until recently none of them had any word on when embassies would open. People here on this forum too had no idea until recently. And it is no secret that there is an anti immigration sentiment right now in this country. Probably they second guessing themselves due to low poll numbers and being close to November. Who knows.

Recently there was an announcement on DACA and just today the reversal on the student visa issue.

So your bias is obvious: everything that upsets you is the fault of the president.

There is not now, nor has there ever been an anti immigration stance by the current administration. There is, however, a stance that people coming to this country should do so legally. (Obama actually deported more people than Trump in the same time period). I realize this might be confusing to some people but the fact remains that legal immigration has not been the focus.

Immigrants coming here taking jobs when Americans are out of work or blocking immigrants from countries with high incidents of the virus is not anti immigration. Protecting Americans and Americans jobs is in fact the job of our government.

Again, the local consulates can process visas based on their local conditions. This has been stated numerous times and there are many articles showing this fact. If you have any true intention of knowing the truth beyond your bias you can easily find said articles.

We're talking about communication from embassies on when they were to reopen, which based on my knowledge is just being clearly communicated now. The most recent evidence of this was the Twitter post a few days ago from the travel.statedepartment handle. Perhaps you had foreknowledge through all those "numerous" articles, but I didn't. No one is taking American jobs. On the contrary, immigrants create jobs in this country. And I never advocated for illegal immigration, otherwise I wouldn't be on this forum. A little history lesson though: the first people to arrive in this land did so illegally and luckily received asylum from very generous natives, otherwise they would not have made it.

Are DACA people here legally? Did they follow the law to come to this country? I'll await your very clear and direct answer on this. (To address your point about supporting illegal immigration)

What happened 400, 500 or 600 years ago has no bearing on what the law states today in this republic. The law is clear as it stands on immigration.

Immigrants coming to this country at the expense of the American worker are not good for the country as a whole, unless there are no qualified American workers who can perform those tasks. Companies are happy to pay immigrants less money for the same work that an American would require, but that doesn't seem to bother you.

The president does not write the laws; he enforces the laws. If you have a problem with the current laws, complain to your elected representatives.

Where does it specifically say, that spousal and some other visas are now being considered as “mission critical”? Anyone can share a link to an official resource?

Everyone’s been mentioning it all of the time, but is the info even actually true?

You can find the information in the last paragraph in both these links listed under US Visa News by Travel.state.gov

You can also check the US Embassy page of your own country, they could have listed a similar thing.

No, the website for the US Consulate in Moscow is too unclear, to say gently. It’s basically useless. No info listed on there AT ALL.

This Just In -

A physician in India JUST (10 mins ago) got their emergency interview appointment scheduled for their H-1B visa.

Is scheduled for next week!!!!

So, India is scheduling interviews....as of July 15th, as they mentioned on their twitter feed that they could.

That is GREAT NEWS!

Now, we will see if they are also going to issue visas promptly, or throw people into Administrative Processing limbo...

The US Embassy in Egypt announced this:  "The U.S. Embassy in Egypt has canceled all routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments – including diversity visas – through September 30, 2020."

Guess we have a date at least of possible resumption... See link for the announcement.
