Would you please kindly post your visa interview experience later? I got my interview on June (Spouse of USC at South Korea US embassy) but got blue letter as currently all kinds of visa issuance is pending. There was no problem with my interview & document submission. I am curious if this is the case only in South Korea.

One person on FB NVC Group posted that her husband had his interview yesterday, was approved, and visa was stamped two hours later from Dominican Republic. Visa was issued same day. Your delay may be specific to SK.

Just like i heard someone got their interview schudled i noticed the embassies still dont post anything about opening . Even the Zambia embassy Us. Didnt post anything about opening  which makes me think we all will just get an suprise all of sudden!

I agree with you. But also look out for small details. A week before I got my IL the embassy page changed slightly, removing the "routine services are suspended" line. Other than that, their page was exactly the same

Further update...

I received an email this morning telling me to "please complete my medical and schedule the interview within 7 working days", followed by another email, asking me to please deliver my documents at the embassy. Needless to say, This was very unexpected. I called the embassy and they told me to bring all my relevant documents (civil, tax, aos etc, basically everything that was uploaded to ceac).

While there I was told I will have to complete my medical first, and have the results available to do my interview. The friendly gentleman at the embassy immediately scheduled my interview for a week later, as I could only get a medical for Monday. He told me to only bring "passport, photos, myself..." his words.

So my interview has been moved to the 21st. I think they do it this way to limit time spent during the interview, but also to have less people there at one time. Maybe, I'm just speculating. Though it is still pretty stressful, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful

If your country in phase 3 of reopening? Or how’s the COVID situation there? I’m wondering to see how a country needs to be before the consulates reponen

The confusing part is that Zambia doesn't really have any phased or planned reopening process. We have been mostly open for the duration of the pandemic actually, except for bars, school, incoming international travel/transport was limited, masks and hand washing everywhere. We have very few reported cases compared to a country like South africa, though it is difficult to say how accurate it is. Maybe we were lucky, maybe it's a bit of ostrich-syndrome. No one really knows.

I was originally asking if your visa was a CR1, as it seems they're only processing mission critical visas, and then I saw your earlier post stating that it was. Now I can't figure out how to delete this post, ha.

But as you said, ironically enough we may be lucky to be processing through Africa now. Usually I'd feel jealousy for the couples with fiances in Europe as those visas typically process faster than a "high risk" country, but for once I think we are getting lucky. I feel for all of you out there facing challenges with the Schengen ban! Hang in there, we'll all get through this.

Thank you so much for the update. We contacted the embassy in Nairobi today via phone and they told us that we would be able to schedule an appointment for our K-1 visa "soon" and that we should keep checking the website for the ability to schedule. Good luck to you too.

US Embassy in Bosnia had August open for a while now. Also they had open June and July but canceled it. June interview they canceled 2 weeks before and July one month before.. seems like now we passed this “one month” cancellation, hopefully it keeps rolling 🙈

Looks like embassies will open in August ! Inn Shaa Allah :)

I think you missed the part where other months were also available but then cancelled.

It's possible, but I wouldn't put too much faith into reopenings yet. Especially since other embassies have already cancelled their August appointments.
