Hello everyone who is reading this ,

I have tried not to post much on this forum because with the frustration of filing in June 2019 finally getting word that my case was transferred last month , I really do not need the negativity that I’ve seen so many be subjected to. I also called USCIS today June 10, 2020 not only did the officer hang up in my face after I asked what date was my file assigned to a officer I still have no dates, rhyme, or reason as to why it seems our case is being shuffled within the bureaucracy. My lawyer hasn’t ever handled  immigration from Africa I’m just at a loss. It’s seems there are so many factors even after we get approved that will affect my husband being here . All I did was fall in love now it seems USCIS is our ultimate judge and jury. I know someone out there will relate if you don’t that’s ok to. If you are new to this forum don’t get discouraged. I wish I had a more positive aspect like others I read about but that’s simply not the case. It’s hard to explain to my husband that just because it’s America doesn’t mean it’s what you see on T.V. It’s not that easy for some of us. 🤪😩 Good luck to you all and God Bless

Cases do get sent often to other offices (as mine was)/  said for faster processing (after 10 months in Nebraska) / another 6 months later finally went to NVC

Positive is hard but try to keep it as you must always encourage the immigrant/  i never even let Adil know i cried

Now things have definitely slowed down from slow to slower

all you need is to stay calm and keep him that way

My husband kept thinking we would never be together / he became a citizen last September and took me to Paris to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary

i can't tell you how to be positive but just know the clouds will lift and the sun will shine

and some of us have gone thru a lot to fight to get a loved one here

I don't think anyone here will give you negative / just answer any questions like "Same religion?" from them and follow any advice they give especially those of us dealing with African embassies

Best to both of you

My husband is from Nigeria also, it took our case over 11 months to get approved at the Nebraska office. Now it’s at NVC

I can relate as far as the challenges you mentioned with getting your loved one home to you and with the negativity on this forum sometimes. It seems if the immigration issue is not straight forward  and simple some people don't know how to respond but I think in general most people want to help and offer advise that is useful. Its going on a year for my fiance and I. We have had to get the assistance of US senator to move our process along however with COVID everything is at a stand still. I hope all will work out in a timely manner for you and all of us
