Returning from France

Hi, I know there is a ban for the espace schengen but I’m a LPR and need to go home in August. I booked a flight with Air France Paris Seattle which has been cancelled and I keep seeing flights getting cancelled. I don’t know what to do, did anyone take a flight from France or the espace Schengen and which city did you fly to? I’m at lost here and need a solution. I need to plan in advance because My husband sent me my green card which has probably been lost by USPS and I will most likely need a boarding foil and it’s valid for only 30 days.
Thank you!

What I did when I needed a timely trip to Germany was I picked some daily flights from main airlines (such as United, Lufthansa) and monitored the flights daily to check reliability. I would certainly not book through any provider pages but through an airline. You can also check main connections (in my case it was Newark/Frankfurt) and then add a domestic flight once you reach if the objective is making it to the US. Check US airlines flying daily from Paris, and to their home hub for instance (ATL for Delta, Newark United etc)

Go through Frankfurt - we just arrived last week on FRA-IAD flight (UA988 I believe). You can then connect to other flights or overnight if your next flight is the following day from DCA.

We flew to Chicago from Copenhagen with SAS last Friday. We had our trip canceled and changed 4-5 times since March. Finally made it.

But I believe American Airlines have suspended all flights to/from Europe until September.

But Lufthansa was supposed to start flying direct to the US from select airports. Not sure if they started or not.

I booked a flight with Air France, was cancelled once but so far my other flight is still maintained. 🤞🏼 Thank you for the information!

Good luck! The world is crazy at the moment and the airports are like ghosttowns..

Our return flight on 7/21 is still stable, but long time to go.

Same mine is 8/23 so still a long time from now but I booked to go to LA so I would have better chance to have it maintained.

However, I had no other issues entering the US. Been abroad for 11 months and 3 weeks, but the CBP officer just asked why, and then he said Welcome and we were on our way.

The return flight might be more interesting...

Awesome, I’ll be in the same situation, abroad for 11 months and half! Where did you land?

We got into Chicago O'Hare.

It's one of the 13 airports that allow entrance according to the Proclamation by the President. But no people either, our plane had maybe 50 passengers, almost empty.

So going through customs and all, went really fast. But was kind of exciting traveling during this global pandemic, it is historical so glad to be part of it! :)

But it still sucks since everything is shut down and takes extra long time to do anything. Hopefully USCIS can expedite my Reentry Permit application.
