Statistics on who has been approved or not: What do you think?

Hi Everyone,

I called USCIS on Friday to see what was happening with my case. The woman was polite but repeated herself over and over again with the usual. She told me they're now processing January 2007 applications. We all know that's not exactly true.

It's hard to see how many people are approved and how many are still waiting. So I used the VJ timeline search and (based on people reporting, which may be a problem), I got the following stats:

Note: This is K-3 Visas only. I wonder if K-3s are more complex than K-1.

Total

  • Applications: 59
  • Approved (got NOA2 for I-130 or I-129): 27
  • in the last 4 weeks: 11
  • in the last

2 weeks: 7

What do you think? Are we the last of the last, or are these stats correct?

Alan

No touches or anything today

I would have to agree with neel... it would have been better if all of us had gone the K3 route. I know someone who made a K1 petition a week before I did my I-130 and his wife had her interview mid-july, approved and is in the US already. Good to know that family petitions is last in the priority list for our government - H1Bs, illegal immigrants, K1s all get priority over us US citizens.

This is brutal. I was sure I would have an NOA2 by the end of July. Since the beginning of August, I've been checking my email probably 10 times a day hoping to see something from USCIS. It's like an addiction. Anybody else in the same boat? We should start a new support group called K3AA....K3 applicants anonymous. This whole K3 "disease" has all the signs of a bad addiction...I'm losing sleep over it, my work productivity has decreased, I get really angry at times (at USCIS), sometimes it gets me a little down...aren't these things that typically happen to drug and alcohol addicts? Damnit, USCIS, can't you see what you're doing to us?

K-3 applications are more complex than K-1 applications due to the fact of linking them to our I-130 application. It also appears they are trying to work on them simultaneously so they are approved together. I'm sure that helps them save time, but it costs us time waiting.

Regarding the other members that have VERY short waiting periods. I e-mailed one member mentioned and he noted he is military and was able to apply for expedited status. I trust we all understand and support this for those serving in the military to protect us from those insane freak shows blowing themselves up in the name of "Allah."

Good luck everyone,

Robin

i hope we are the last of the last lol.. does anyone have an answer to are k3s more complex than k1s. I see that they have approved over 100 k1 applications this year, and only about 30 k3s.

Hi All,

I m not sure if people are interested in this link(mostly becoz it doesn't help any with our wait time) but while I was wandering in the K1 report/tracking section to look for latest K1 approvals to get more idea on my petition @ CSC, I ran into this table where it lists some recent CSC petition approvals and pending cases and in effect gives us more idea about what the K1 vs. K3 trend has been as of late:

The table is here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...81562&st=60

Glancing at this table, I think its almost safe to say what I have repeatedly said here that why favor K1 so much over K3. I mean they are the SAME K category visas... right? Its not that I dont like K1s petitioners (I m really happy for them... really) but why cant USCIS match the same approval rate on K3s, if not better them.

Ok I m done ranting and venting... Good luck to e'one here and hope we all get our much awaited NOA2s sooooon... I know I have weeks/months to go before my NOA2 but I also know people here on VJ who have been wayyyyy overdue... and looking at their timeline kinda scares me too

Regards,

Pkewl

Hi Erika's husband..

U know I can probably attest to all of the bad "signs" and symptons of addiction that you just mentioned above except for the USCIS portfolio checking part because over the time I have managed or "trained" myself to check CRIS just once or twice in a day(once in the morning and once in the evening). Other than that I can probably related to u in each and every other way that you mentioned above. This process, I believe, does take some toll on everyone's being but hang in there. We will come out stronger than what we went in with. I know from my first hand experience that this is easier said than done but see it as a test and that it will all be well-worth it in the end...

Hope this helps. TC and good luck

I guess one good benefit I've received from waiting so much is that I've been working out more to relieve the stress of waiting and not knowing.

I wonder if anyone has ever thought of inventing a "patch" that keeps you from thinking about the process.

Run a request through your chain of command. They will have to write a document for you showing your active status. However my understanding it that they only expedite for personnel being deployed. Good Luck Troop.
