JasS, have you called them through RFE line. It is possible your petition to be approved already. More people here receive approvals soon after they have sent additional info to USCIS. Sometimes they don't update online status.

Which # to call and how do I do the RFE trick?

Call Customer Service Number 1 800 375 5283 and choose option 4 for RFE. After that you will be required to input the number of your petition and will be directly transfered to spoke with somebody from CSC. Then ask about your cases and if everything is o.k. with your RFE.

Each USCIS Adjudicator has a limited amount of time to work per day. Every time someone uses this "RFE Trick," they are taking valuable time away from them to actually work on and complete an approval. My estimate is it is probably close to a 1 to 1 loss. Each time this "trick" is used, that person contacted at CSC or VSC cannot complete another application that day.

Am I missing something here? What we fear the most, that it will take longer, could be partially be our own fault by abusing this process.

Are you really helping anything with the RFE Trick? What did you gain? Did you actually gain any useful information? If it's not your turn to have your file adjudicated, it goes back in the box. But hey, woo hoo, you now have a "touch." What in the world?

Think about it. Do we really want to tie one hand behind those actually trying to adjudicate our applications? I'm ticked off at the System, but I'm rooting for each person processing the applications. They have a lot to deal with.

We just applied at the Perfect Storm of delays and lag times. It is so frustrating. Do we want to contribute to the problem.

I'm not trying to stir up trouble or requesting to be flamed. I just think we should reevaluate abusing this RFE Trick. I argue it doesn't help anything at all. In fact, I think it hurts the overall process.

:thumbs: That's true... :whistle: I only used it once because my NOA1 didn't come and it was already a whole month... so I had a good reason to call (not sure if they got it or not).. but I see some of the people here are calling everyday with so many touches.. You are causing your "touches", not them... You should probably do this "RFE" trick maybe once every 2 months or 3... at least look to see if your timeframe is being processed (compare to others near approval... for example, the current "group" that are getting the approvals are in March 2007)... they should be getting their approvals in a week or two?? so if you are probably January or earlier, then it is good to call using this "trick" to see what happened.. :thumbs:

The only reason I wanted to do it is because I have heard that after you send in your RFE you normally get an approval within 2 weeks. However, it's been a month since I sent in my RFE and no approvals yet.... :( So I had to call and see and make sure. They told me sorry, nothing yet. I will hear back within 3-4 weeks. :( :( :(

I have a good news to share with you Finally got an interview date (By email only...my wife yet didn't receive the packet#4 the very last one!!!!). It will be September 17 2007....still One and Half month. And everything is exceptional for me .... my other Bangladeshi Friend gets interview for K3 cases less than a month...and when it is come to myself....obviously it is not less than a month any more...I thank god for being so kind to me...it could be another 6 months!!!! who knows....as usually everything is coming 6times later.... ha ha ha ha...

Jas S, You have a legitimate reason for calling, we are complaining about other people who do it for no reason other than not being able to sit tight and wait. Don't worry, I think you should def call.

I think that it is more than normal for Jas S to call through RFE line. This line is for people who have sent additional evidence. So it is normal for him to call and to see what is going on with his RFE.

According to me it is not correctly for people like me to call if they have not RFE but if you are waiting and see that most of the filers in your month are approved you will be tempted to do that. The same I feel in May and June when most of the February filers were approved.

i called once to check to see if I had an RFE, but she said that everything was fine and hopefully it wouldn't be too much longer...soo...just trying to patiently wait...thanks for all the wishes guys...hopefully we will all be seeing some action soon :) Good luck to everyone...
