Weren't they being sent to CSC to "speed things up"? That is what it said in my email I believe. I think they just started sending them all to CSC instead of a select number of them and now they are overloaded and don't know what to do.

And it is strange that the K-1's are being approved fairly quickly and easily. The K-3's cost more and we submit the same I129F.

We decided to get married first partially because we did not want anyone telling us when we had to get married and we figured that if we got married first we would be taken more seriously. Obviously we were clueless.

I see there wasn't much action for anybody again today ( was there ?) so I'll share this with you. The first person to wish me a happy birthday yesterday was my stepdaughter who called from Laguna ( Philippines ) and who also sleeps on the floor every night while going to college and staying at her Aunts tiny apartment. A very smart, positive and upbeat girl that I hope will shortly be able to pursue the American dream.

Apparently VSC has no old ones to work on, so they are approving late May and June I130s now. There are at least 4 or 5 Vjers in that boat out of VSC. CSC is loaded up on all the transfered ones, and all the new incoming, and can't do anything.

05/12/2007 - NOA1 received by snail mail after a loooong wait

05/14/2007 - Sent I-129F for K3 to Chicago Lockbox via USPS Express Mail

10/22/2007 - I129F APPROVED (161 days), I130 APPROVED (188 days)

11/08/2007 - I129F received at NVC, embassy case number generated.

11/13/2007 - I129F forwarded to embassy.

11/18/2007 - 129F petition received at embassy

01/09/2008 - finally, DOS gives me the interview date, April 16, 2007 (ouch)

01/23/2008 - never got packet 4, emailed embassy

04/11/2008 - picked up packet 4, did medical

04/14/2008 - medical report pickup, no problems

04/16/2008 - interview date- APPROVED!!!!!

04/18/2008 - both of us are home at last, POE JFK!

05/21/2008 - sent AOS and EAD

05/27/2008 - received NOA1 for AOS and for EAD

06/02/2008 - received Biometrics appt letter

06/19/2008 - Biometrics appointment scheduled - DONE

06/19/2008 - both AOS and EAD touched because of biometrics

I have been so stuck on getting this approval that I never bothered to research the course of the K-3 visa after it goes to NVC. I understand that it gets forwarded to the local embassy but what happens next... will they contact my husband or will he have to contact them? :unsure:

i know i am getting ahead of myself but why not use this time to learn more about the K-3 process.

I believe they should mail what is known as packet 3 to him...which is basically a checklist of all the documents he will need for his interview. Once you have all these documents, you notify the embassy and they should make the interview appointment and send packet 4 which is pretty much the same list and maybe a couple more forms you need to fill out. That said, I'd probably contact the embassy even though they should send this just to make sure they really do. You know how it is with these people! haha

Hang in there!!!!! We've got most of our waiting done, so those NOA2s are coming any day!

Another uneventful weekend is coming :crying: .Makes me wanna cry.

Now I cannot believe that I was an optimistic people before this immigration process.

Keep your chin up Zolanden, and you too Neel06. One of the most comforting things I can do is spend a little time on this website knowing there are other couples going through the same misery. Do like I do with the USCIS , check their website once a day only and never on the weekends. You may even see a hard copy from them before something shows up on their website !!

Came in today hoping to see some approvals! , I am soo frustrated that I have stopped coming everyday..My days off from work are Tuesdays and Fridays and they are the only 2 days now that I check in here and on the USCIS websight.. It really got to me to see April filers getting their NOA2's already..knowing there are still March filers waiting...*sigh*.. (I am happy for the April filers, but had hoped they would clear out all the March filers first...

Day 136 since NOA1 on our I-130, Day 119 since NOA1 on our I-129

I have tried to learn about K3 too... After both my K3 and CR-1 approved it went to NVC and both of them were assigned 2 different case#. I found out (After lots of frustrating attempts to speak with live operator of NVC) My I-129F case which left NVC to Bangladesh on 10th July. Till today I didn't receive any reply to my emails to the consulate. They supposed to arrange an interview within 2 weeks. It's been 10 days with no reply. I admit that I am getting little impatient here but you should not forget that I shouldhv my spouse with me by now as I already let 298 days passed patientfully to just get the approval (And I am a US Citizen!!!) I can't be patient no longer....Neel here is a document about K3 process that I got from online... in this document it says there is no fee except 45 dollars which may be paid by the spouse during the interview...However someone from this forrum mentioned about paying non-immigrant visa fee of $100 dollars while interviewing your spouse. The Consulate will contact your spouse with Packet#3&4 (Madicale,Visa application forms and appointment letter for the interview). wishing you all the best

08-27 - Interviewed,Passport is kept and Given a Token to collect Passport with Visa on the next day.

09-04 - Visa in hand, 09-07 Ticket was booked to JFK for 09-10

09-11 - POE-JFK,NY :)) Finally got together after looooong time.
