Btw, congratulations @MA&AR on your recent DQ ! I hope you get an interview date soon 😀

Laurent

Thank :)

Submitted everything June 10th and DQ on the 30th.

We got a conditional expedite for interview after DQ, however not sure how that works.

I think you will receive your interview letter in the next few days with a date, probably somewhere in July I assume.
I did not request an expedite, and my interview is on the 20th of July.

Best of luck to you !

Hey everyone! I saw on Department of States Twitter that certain embassies would be opening up their schedule for routine services. https://www.gtlaw.com/en/insights/2020/5/summer-2020-travel-advisory-us-embassy-consular-services-and-covid-19-restrictions
Then I saw on this website that France was opening up the schedule for non immigrant appointments in August. Did anyone hear from/ call the embassy to confirm this? My fiancé has Interview been rescheduled for the three times on August 5th. Hopefully this means that this one might not get cancelled.

Apparently, all august interviews are cancelled...

We got an email that ours was pushed to early September and called for confirmation.

Whattt ?! Ow noooo! How annoying, I am so sorry you (and others) are going through that.

And no reason.

I don't think it is Covid because even if the news keep telling us it is rising, when you look at the figures it is not rising at all - which doesn't mean of course that we should go back to normal, yet.

I just cannot believe it.

When are you planning to move to the US MA&AR? Is it changing your plans?

:(

thanks, it doesn't change a lot in regards to our plans, but it is a little stressful. What if, they stop interviewing again ... 🙄

Just wish to have the visa in hand and not be so dependent of the system.

I see the term “DQ” used here and there, including in relation to the K-1 visa process. What does “DQ” stands for? Which steps does it refer to?

thanks

Documentarily Qualified :)

It means you are all good with NVC and that the next step is with the Embassy.

@Alix64 thanks for the explanation! And so how do you know if you’ve been “DQ’ed”?... Is there a change of status of your Ds-160?
Sorry but I hadn’t read anywhere about such a qualification. Is it applicable to all K-1 visa requests or only those which have a request of expedite process pending?...

Hey Gatekeeper,

Usually you get an email. Or you discover it on the website, but few minutes after the email arrives :)

I think "DQ" works for all kind of visas, K1 included. It qualifies only for the NVC step, and has nothing to do with expedite process.

Take care,

Alix

Hi Alix,

ah ok so this « DQ » status/notification would be the confirmation of the end of the « NVC processing » step, just before they transfer the file to the embassy (in a normal context), correct? And it has nothing to do with the DS-160 file completion, right?

I’m going to check the status regularly then, to check for any change.

thank you Alix!
