There was an ad in the paper for one...just tonight. I'm going to type up a cover letter here in a minute and send off my resume tomorrow. I did have a year of college (nearly) for the legal secretarial program (15 years ago!), but I didn't complete it. I just got my Associate's in Accounting/Computer Specialty, and this position doesn't require a legal-secretarial degree, and I do have many of the skills it *does* require, so I'm just going to take a stab at it. It's full time, and it just never hurts you know? I don't expect to get it, but I'm gonna try my darndest!!!

Anyway, Becca you're one right??? Not sure if that's what you are, or if you work in the law office in some other capacity...

I was just wondering what you actually *do* at that job...I mean, I can imagine in generalities...and DUH, now that I made this post, I'm sure I can Google it, but now that I've typed it I'll ask anyway. If any of you are in this position, you will have more first-hand knowledge than what I might find in Google anyway.

Thanks in advance! :) Michelle

*Like I say...it never hurts to try for something. This is the type of job I'm looking for, but I've been applying for just about anything. *just about* :P Front desk clerks at hotels, etc etc etc... I hope something comes along VERY soon!!! M.

I worked as a legal secretary over the summer last year. I didn't have any training at all.

All I did was answer the phone, notify the courts, took documents down to the court house, typed up letters, invoices and just generally helped with whatever they needed. The lawyers would even take me to some of their court cases  I enjoyed it, but found a better job. I still go over and sit in on somethings with them.

This was a small office and they hadn't been around too long.
