UCLA professor suspended, under police protection after threats

The University's response is very mild. The lecturer only gets suspended for three weeks, after the summer semester starts, and he might not even teach summer classes. 

Given that over 50% of UCLA core funding comes from students tuition, the University had to respond in some way and they choose this very non damaging response.

 

The lecturer's email is crazy unprofessional and unethical. He could have gone to the school dean, there are policies in places (usually) for cases when students ask for special accomodations.

So apparently this is the new thing amongst the Left now. If you disagree with them or say something even remotely crude they will doxx you in order for your boss to get you fired. I have seen it quite a bit lately even with people I knew in HS. Yeah some of the remarks are crude but they aren't racist by any means, and people are trying to get them fired for it. I told someone this morning that this is how you get Trump reelected right here. Because people will hold their nose and vote for him in order to piss them people off.

Mr. Floyd never finished his education and had recently up until his death been working with youth to encourage them to get off the streets and stay in school. I think the best thing these kids could do respectfully is to stay in school and finish the job they're working on.

What they've done here is confirmation of what was expected, they just replace the police with their own power structure, one that is vastly worse. Funny enough, the Bolsheviks in the Antifa of yore set up the same thing. 

 

You can see why they want to burn history books, because it tends to show their violent history as well.

The tone of that email is unacceptable and unprofessional. If he did not want to give an extension or provide special accommodations, he could have denied the request in a neutral way. There was no need for him to take a sarcastic tone; it added zero to the message he wanted to convey which was a simple "no." This is not to say that it is acceptable for him to be threatened in any way. Respect is a two way street; he is more than old enough to know better. The students need to learn this too -- suspension during an investigation is appropriate, but removal, in my opinion isn't.

He was on the John and Ken show yesterday talking about this situation. He said he got his orders from his supervisor saying that "Do not give in to these people wanting a accomodation unless they have been directly affected".

Oh, I think he was right to refuse the accommodation. But his way of delivering it was not acceptable. A suspension and a reprimand is right here, but I don't think a firing is at all.

If you notice how leftist authoritarianism "progresses":

 

- Twitter/FB is a private site! They can do what they want! Don't like it? Create your own platform!

- Gab, a social media competitor, creates platform

- The left try to caricature the site, including media, race conflict monetizing sites like SPLC, and so on

- It doesn't work, more people join for "free speech", so the left harass the site's registrar

- Registrar caves to the mob

- Left harasses the sites host

- Host caves to the mob

- Left harasses Apple and Google to ban their apps from app stores

Free speech wins. 

 

The left don't have ideas people want, thus try to employ the 💩 authoritarianism of shutting things down to force compliance with their viewpoint. The story of this type of authoritarianism plays out repeatedly and always loses in the end. Too bad the left and their new found censor buddies are too busy caught up in their momentary frenzy to understand what happens in the end.

 

The immediate lesson is, don't give it an inch. Not a single one.
