Guys,

I know how painful this moment is for all of us.

I wanted to open a new thread where we can just exchange real information about the Consulate & Embassy openings in EU.

I would like you guys to post the information you have acquired so far over this topic so we can monitor the situation altogether.

Please, do not post anything that belongs  to the rumour mill or comes from the world-of-mouth.

As far as I am concerned, the Consulate of Naples - Italy - told me  that they are going to resume the routine VISA services when the Presidential Proclamation of March 11th 2020 will be lifted.

But they did not provide me with an ETA.

Have you received any other information/updates? Did they provide you with any dates?

Thank you for your collaboration.

They've been scheduling more and more IR-1 visa appointments lately. No K1s so far and the people who've successfully scheduled theirs before, keep getting them cancelled. There are plenty of rumors floating around from people who heard this or read that, but no one's actually posted proof that anyone really has.

Thank you for your email.

We understand this is frustrating and confusing.

There are numerous Presidential Proclamations.

K visas are effectively non-immigrant visas until converted after marriage.  While grouped with Immediate Relation visas, they are structurally different.  They are not exceptions to the proclamation on the novel coronavirus.  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/presidential-proclamation-coronavirus.html

Sincerely,

This is the Email I received unfortunately

Thank you so much for the email you have copy pasted here!

Please, if you feel it's important for you, sign the petition that's someone has posted in the K1 visa section.

Or don't. It's not going to matter. He's looking to get reelected, a petition signed by a small minority who wants to either bring their foreign partners into the country or who are foreigners wanting to get in isn't going to matter.

It's extremely frustrating that this forum has a rule against discussing politics when the entire immigration and travel ban discussion is so obviously political in nature.

Hello there, does anybody know anything by now?

I know Germany isn’t moving ahead with K1 at this moment but any other European consulate maybe?

Hello Dia,

I can only speak for my embassy, but they are only conducting IR1-CR1 ("mission critical") visa interviews at the moment.

I think it is similar in other embassies.

Hope that helps !

Hi guys!

No news from here either. Just CR1 are processed, most of them are army wives.
We are in touch with the Consulate but the travel ban set in force by the Proclamation 9993 has suspended the K1 visa issuance. There are many groups on Facebook that are focused on the general #LiftTheTravelBan thing but we have a different story and I would say That we are even more entitled to get public attention over this topic.

yup...as feared, K-1's, despite not being mentioned one way or the other in the POTUS' EO's, are being treated as "nope" by the embassies.  Sucks.

Except that we won't actually know until embassies start reopening in the next few days.

Either way, WH briefing/campaign event made it seem like it's going to take another while for the travel ban to get lifted. So that's cool.

If anyone out there is waiting for the Belgium Consulate’s reopening status, we received our email scheduling our interview on November 5 for our CR1/IR1 visa. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.
