10/14/17: Biometrics appointment notice received, 10/25/17: Biometrics

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

Yes, but while that is correct, the Consular Officer at interview may well ask for new evidence of current income.   Many things can change between now and any eventual interview.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

They may and probably will ask if anything has changed since docs were submitted and go from there... so if you say sponsor has got laid off or change jobs, then they will act accordingly.

 

Additionally, it kind of depends also how sponsor qualitied so far? Was it based on current income, barely making threshold etc. or sponsor qualifies in many dimensions (past income +current income +assets). Losing a job is normal thing, it's just how it affects overall picture. If the current income was the only thing that put them barely through the povery line then expect scrutiny.

Sort of but past income will not overcome the lack of current income.  Liquid assets can overcome lack of current income, but past income cannot.  Past income matters, but not enough to overcome losing a job.
