Those people are ridiculous. It took a kind person to finally tell me last week to call in the morning and request to speak to a tier 2 person, who will then send an email of the letter they supposedly sent us two months ago. The person I called back in June somehow had something caught on their tongue and couldn't just say that. Smh. I can't even imagine how much money and time they waste.

That's the correct thing to do with the required supporting evidence. This is filed at American Citizen Services unit in US Embassy or Consulate.

N-600 shouldn't have been filed.

Perfectly fine to file n600 as evidence of citizenship, as an alternative to a passport. I seem to recall this was discussed in a prior thread with OP(asked why they didn’t apply for passport). Both methods will require the same evidence anyway. (Filed both for my kid.)

I believe we did. We found a bunch of missing evidences of address and travel this year when we were trying to apply for a passport for him. So, now we're going to mail all of those evidences with an explanation and we're also going to submit a passport application since that's what it says on this page: https://nl.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/child-family-matters/crba/

So I hope he gets it. Thanks for your prompt response.

That would help a lot. Yes, send copies of the evidenfe both places. If he gets the passport first, send a copy of that for the n600 too.

Note that can't directly compare an adult that derived citizenship at birth but CRBA was never applied for to INA 320 children that became citizens (after birth) by operation of law.

I assume OP's brother is currently outside of the US. It's very common for N-600 cases in OP's brother circumstances to require an interview inside of the US. OP's brother can only enter the US with US passport. Thus, N-600 was wrong move at this time.

Yes, my brother derived citizenship at birth but a CRBA was never filed. And yes, my brother is in the United States currently with a visiting visa

"If a person is a U.S. citizen, he or she is not eligible for a visa. Any prospective applicant believing he or she may have a claim to U.S. citizenship should have his or her citizenship claim adjudicated (officially determined) by a consular officer at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate before applying for a U.S. visa." https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/frequently-asked-questions.html

Even more reason for USCIS to eventually require N-600 interview in this case.

We filed in March of 2019 for my brother's citizenship certificate, and the last activity was of June 2019, when he went for his bio-metrics. By July, 2019, it said case is being actively reviewed and was stuck on that status until today.
When I checked it says "Request for Initial Evidence was sent".

My concern is, why "INITIAL" evidence? If it was further evidence, I wouldn't be as concerned but I don't understand why it says initial evidence after we sent them everything last year and they even sent my Father's passport back.

He also went for his biometrics.

Initial evidence is usually all of the things you send when you first send your application. Did they misplace our files?

I'm really concerned about this! It's been a year! And the Minneapolis office opened this week, and I'm guessing they only did something because we sent an inquiry through Amy Klobachar's office!

Hi, please is there any update on your brothers case ours has been radio silence.

Hi, yes, he got his in March. Please call the USCIS and when you get their stupid voice system, say "Appointment", it'll ask you for what, just say ceremony.

Then when you get someone, tell them you'd like to speak to a level two officer and explain to them your situation. They'll likely put you on a call back list and you'll get a call later that day or the next day

When you get the level two person, explain everything to them and ask them what's going on and tell them how long you've been waiting. Ask them to investigate the status of the case and give you an update. How long ago did you file and when was the last activity?
