Hi. I am planning to bring my 2 nieces here in the US next year on their summer break next year. They are both minors, 11 years old and 14 years old. Is it possible to apply for a tourist visa for minors? And the proof they are enrolled for the next school year will be enough evidence? Thanks

Their parent can apply for them, sure. Up to the embassy to decide what is acceptable evidence that they will return home.

Thanks. I will be the one applying for my nieces and I'll cover their entire trip. Thanks

Actually I don’t think legally you can apply for someone else’s child, I believe a parent or legal guardian has to sign for a minor. But of course you can pay for everything.

The parents will need to get passports and apply for the visas for the trip.   If they are not leaving the Philippines with a parent they will also need to get DSWD clearance.

Huh, interesting to note that in the Philippines all children have to appear for an interview accompanied by parent or legal guardian. (In most countries, children under 14 are exempt from appearing for b visa interview.) Wonder what the reasons are that they are stricter in Philippines.

Sadly, Philippines, like most third world countries, is considered a high fraud country when it comes to USA immigration.

Most “third world countries”  do not require children under 14 to appear. So something else is going on in the Philippines.

Did you look them all up?

Maybe there's high rate of child abductions/kidnapping/custody issues in the Philippines. Or the state department sends their rogue/meanest employees to staff the US embassy in the Philippines.

I know about enough of them, yes. I was rather hoping for genuine insight rather than speculation, but thanks anyway,

Genuine insight? Sorry to disappoint. Asking you about all 3rd world countries was also a rhetorical question. I been knew. :)

To me, Visa Journey is informative, entertaining and a provides a little bit of schadenfreude. Not sure why people get twisted into knots on these boards.

I'm sure someone will come along and provide genuine insight.
