Esalaam/Hello/Salut

Well when we do get around to being able to file our petition we will have married over a year...and spent probably (enchallah) most of it together. I was wondering by a show of opinions how much more evidence of the relationship should we need? I am thinking not much. As we are married, and living together, names on the houses, my child living there, etc... I really so far have not gathered much evidence other the my tix stubs, visa applications, invitations/herbergments and all of our emails (which I really rather not show...too personal) and of course photos of our wedding. Unfortunately for some odd reason we did not take too many photos together... I always seem to be snapping the scenery not us...

Any opinions are appreciate, as Alger does a new CO. Not the same old Alger as last year!

Henia- anything you have helps!

You might want to take more pictures of you two this time, and of course some pictures of you guys and your daughter would probably be good.

I think otherwise the passport stuff, tickets, emails... anything else is good.

You guys will be fine!

I sure pray that  I sometimes wonder with all the drama Alger is giving us, if we will that 2 year mark and get a IR-1 instead of CR-1... that would be nice!

Well I highly doubt you'll have a problem. I mean you have lived with him for a long span of time, your daughter is there with you, what more could they want, you know? I agree that waiting the two years would be cool too just to get that CR1 visa, you know? you could even try to time it so you could file before the 2 year mark since I think it applies to the day he gets the visa.

Snaps .... o well. I am just glad it is not in the 90s in Alger and my husband just had them install the English toliet ... no more squatting! So this wifey is happy! (for now) And I guess I will slowly but lazyily (sp?) worry about the proofs as we go along...since Alger is taking us for long ride I think.

oh no! i'm sorry to hear that... it's too bad because everyone there was no nice and laid back when we were there almost a year ago ( :o i can't believe its been that long!). We handed them a stack of stuff and they barely looked at it. I did get the feeling though that if we hadn't had as much as we did they would have been asking where it was.

anyways, i'm sorry to hear that they're giving you a rough time. i haven't been keeping up with the consulate news, but i'm assuming that you're able to do DCF again there.

there was a really nice american man that worked there who handled our case.... ahhh good times.

Good luck Henia!!!

Are you going to move back to the USA here Henia? If I read correctly? I thought you wanted to stay in the bled with your husband?

Its probably similar for the American government as the Canadian government if this is the case -I sent a photocopy of our legal marriage certificate that we had done in Algeria along with photos of the wedding and women's party after :)) i photocopied some of our cards and just a few samplings of the emails; every single boarding pass and tix copies i kept too and photocopied that along with a big elasticed bunch of long distance telephone cards! lol! That is cheaper here than using long distance services; All invitation letters i had to go visit him and his family there along with photocopies of my passport and every Algerian visa for my visits -thats good enough.

And finally after all this time, of waiting and waiting, we finally received the magic email asking for his passport to be sent up to that embassy in Paris to stamp his visa inside so he was finally approuved (but allow a MINIMUM OF 6 TO 8WEEKS for passport processing :P) I hope it wont be as complicated for you in any case!

I know the couple of times that my husband has been to Casa they've really looked at the photos. We have lots with my family and his family and of us together and only a couple with our son as he's only seen him once for two weeks when we went for a visit. :(

As far as the emails, I've included them...even some of the "embarassing" ones. I figure, hey, if you want to know that much about our private life...then fine. Whatever it takes to show that we have a real marriage, you know?

I definitely think photos help.

Property ownership is good as well.
