Hi guys! I have a problem. I am 99% sure that I have got all the vaccination needed. However, my vaccination records were lost, as in Ukraine we still don't have an electronic data base. Any ideas how to fix this situation? Can I do vaccination in the US after I arrive (before filling for AOS)?? Or is there other way to prove that I actually got all the vaccination??

You can get the vaccinations in the US but it will be difficult to find a civil surgeon willing to sign JUST the vaccination form, as they tend to press for a whole new medical.

The best is to get your vaccinations there or get an antibodies test to prove you have been vaccinated.

I assume you haven't been through the medical, have you?

Always more convenient to do it before the visa.  There's no harm getting them again even if you have had them before.   Physician's office deals with this situation everyday

YMMV

Thanks for your advice! No, not yet. It is pretty expensive to do all the vaccins again, but I guess I have no other option. I have to ask them about an antibodies test, but it should be pricy too.

It's called a tieter test, not an antibodies test. They are usually not too expensive and then you have proof of all the vaccinations you have received. Then when you do the medical the doctor can mark them completed.

Compare prices and choose the best option. Things will be way easier if you enter the country with all the needed vaccinations.

  • Usually most, if not all, of the vaccinations that US immigration requires are covered by the national health insurance plans in incoming immigrant's home country.
  • It's possible to get vaccinations done in the US (or tests to see if you have had them or have immunity due to having had the disease in the past), but that means you'll need to find a civil surgeon willing to transcribe vaccinations or just pay to have a medical done in the US.
If you have US medical insurance after arrive (whether through your fiancé(e)'s employer or by buying it on your own) any vaccines you don't already have but need will be covered. If not, you can find places that will do most of them for a relatively low cost (check for clinics at pharmacies). Only get them done by the civil surgeon as a last resort.

Hi,

During the medical in Kyiv they will go over your vaccination record.  Because you don't have proof, they will advise you of options, including getting vaccines from them (at extra cost).  I do not believe they will offer the tests to see what vaccines you do have - I am not sure.  They can provide more information.

My wife had her K-1 medical in Jan 2018, and she had records of all except 3.  She paid extra for 2 vaccines from them, which were about $10 extra each, I think.  They didn't have the 3rd available at the time.

You will be allowed to enter the US without all your vaccines, but will need them for your AOS.

The medical facility that you will use for your visa well go through a series of questions, physical skin observation and the use of blood test if necessary which will help determine what vaccinations you will need. If you have any information (vaccination records) that will help the medical staff to determine what and when you had a vaccination will help but not necessary. Vaccination records are not required.

I'd try to get the tieter test, as Loren Y  mentioned

IT used to be just one approved facility. Now there are two in Kiev, to get your medical exam done. One is Medikom clinic. And I'm almost positive they can do the tieter test. I think I've even read  someone got it done recently, for K-1 interview. Just call them to figure that out.
