yes sir she is filling for her tax what is my benefit or disadvantage of this in the future

Can you get a tax identifying number (think it's called that), my husband got on to file our taxes just before I moved to the US. I'd consult a tax accountant. Isn't an area I'm sure on, I'm still trying to get hold of mine, been in the US 6 weeks.

I'm confused - do you think she's scamming you or something? She's your wife, I'm sure she can explain to you why she needs your SSN. I've never thought of hiding my SSN from my husband and I can always see his, it's kept with all the documents.

My thought exactly!!! Isn't she your wife? Why do I think you're scared she's going to harm u or something.

lean to trust her she is your wife, she file for you & brought you over. if she doubt you, you will not be here, at least not through her. asking you for your social security is for your own good when you file ur tax jointly, for ur future paperwork with uscis. if you think you don't trust her why did you marry her?

Definitely a trust issue

You're not supposed to give your social security number to random people, true, but that's your wife, you share your finances and a home with her, probably a bed, too. She's legally entitled to half of your salary anyway, you probably have a joint bank account, so if she wanted to take money from you, she doesn't need to commit identity theft.

I never ever questioned giving my husband my SSN and I'm very careful with protecting myself from identity theft. Can't she access the place where you keep your documents? Don't you file taxes together?

Maybe it’s just wording or language barrier. It sounds the OP doesn’t trust his wife in a sense she is planning to sabotage his green card and he cares more about the status than the relationship.

Not really like I said earlier on they said at the ssn office do not share it with any body what do you expect me to do? Am new here don't know how things work here don't blame me because from what I was been trained every body is a suspect except proven not one. You need to open your eyes

it does not matter if she file for me or am the one that paid for every thing you dont know my story so all i will say is for you to put your positive advice and thats all, do you think any body that live in America file for every body coming to see his wife or husband its not always like that ppl from abroad send money when there wife or husband is not financially capable

So you think it's better to ask complete strangers on an internet forum than for the OP to believe his spouse who had to fill all kinds of documents and provide all kinds of personal information so that OP can come to the USA?

yes here is where you get the most likely  answers because many have passed through such

Everyone is a suspect unless proven otherwise? The person you married is suspect? I would think that you let people prove they're worthy of your trust before you marry them.

Yep, that's how it sounds.

You wife is financially responsible for you to the US Government for quite a long time - potentially forever.  She signed a sponsorship contract.  You might want to cut her a break when she files her taxes.

You might want to review the terms of service that you agreed to when you signed up for this site.  Anyone can say just about anything and you can't tell them not to reply.  If you don't want to see it - then you should not make a post.
