~~moved to taxes and finances from IR1/CR1 process and procedures~~

Sounds like your wife is filing her tax return and needs your SSN to file married filing jointly.

If she wants to file her taxes without your SSN - she will need to file as Married Filing Separately.  Once you have given her the number then the two of you can ammend the return to a joint return.

She could owe less in taxes and if you are a resident you could get the stimulus payment.

You guys get a better tax return if she files this way instead of married filing separately.  It has no impact on your future other than if you're CR1 and eventually need to remove conditions, it can help prove a bonafide marriage.

Check your endorsed visa.  It should say IR1 under the stamp.  If the green card is CR1 you can use an I-90 to get the IR1 since you were married for 2 years at entry.

CR1/IR1 doesn't matter when it comes to tax treatment.  Hopefully she filed "Married Filing Separately" rather than "Single" for 2018 with the IRS.   If you have a SSN she can file Jointly for 2019.

Ideally it shouldn't take more than 120 days from the day you entered or the day you paid the fee to get your green card; depends on what you did first.

Unfortunately, in some cases, it takes longer than that.

So your 120 days start on April 9th. . .  There was a notice that you should have been handed to you at the consulate or included with your passport/visa packet.  And at the POE they usually ask if you paid.  I take it you didn't try to get your SSN between the time you entered and the offices closing for COVID19.
