In California there is an organized crime unti disguised as landscapers they are the GS Brothers, they drive big red trucks and are in every lawn across town, in fact they will landscape your property even if you don't request it, then come and demand money from you.

I came home once n a saturday afternoon and the GS brothers Strike again, they were packing up their truck after a long days work mowing my lawn , fertilizing, and watering our plants, even edging the drive way,

the only thing is I NEVER requested them to do this, I love mowing my own grass, and taking care of MY lawn.

Then they told me I owed them $60.00 #######??

they were regulars at my neighbors, until this incident, everyone in the HOA decided NOt to use them anymore.

I will pay a competive Amount of $ to anyone who is Legally here in the USA.

When I was in r. High/ HS I spent my summer mowing Lawns made a fortune doing it, then we charged about 15-20 / lawn or 25-30 for bigger lawns. It was all Cash and we would take home nearly $400-in a weekend. I would rather pay a legal resident or Young kid who wants to earn some money over the summer.

Rather than hire Illegal an Criminal Alien to do anything for me.

Colorado has a "Make my Day" Law, that would impact that business approach.

A frind started up a landscaping busines last year, I asked who she would be employing, Legal Mexicans, mentioned that the High School in the local town should be able to meet her needs, made it clear that Mexicans were required not Latino's whatever.

In this town, you can't tell who's here legally and who isn't just by looking at them. So there's no telling.

I know the local chain of Mexican restaurants here are always having to hire new staff, they are famous for hiring illegals. Mostly their own family. :( When immigration needs to meet a quota I guess that's when they do a sweep of all the Taqueria Jaliscos in town.

No, can't afford a landscaper. Well, my husband *did* mow the lawn and pull weeds after he came home last May. He wasn't work authorised either. :P Seriously...I'd rather do it myself 'cause that way it gets done the way I want it not to mention I enjoy it. :D

cause odds are, if they can't speak it, they can't read the sign either ;)

I don't know anyone who has a "landscaper". All of my friends, even Rob with his 7 figures in the bank (Can I borrow a few bucks Rob? LOL) mows his own lawn and plants his own plants.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

it's not my landscaper - the apartment complex uses them. All of the people who do landscaping, as well as most of the ones who do the painting, etc., inside the building, and the woman who washes the floors, are Spanish-speaking. But I certainly do not know their immigration status and am not going to ask!

Today we are having new carpet put into our Home, the carpet guys came over today and They didn't speak a word of English, But they are Hard workers, I am not sure about their immigration status I know the company is reputable bonded / insured. I hired the company not the installers, I am not sure if the carpet companies insurance covers workers who are not legally in the country. When we were shopping for carpet we made sure they had adequate insurance to cover any damage they may cause ect.. Their policy is solid so i would hope it requires the installers be legally eligable to work in the USA legally in order to be covered by their insurance.
