Do you use a landscaper that uses illegal aliens?

As a hypothetical answer....

Ideally, I would plant potatoes over areas normally covered by lawn (as potato plants make the area grass-hostile), or let it be covered with cloverleaf (deeply-green weed) which I could then cut to 1 cm on occasion.

Eliminate need for landscaping in the first place, that way the illegal worker question becomes moot.

No, as I have no yard. But I'd be willing to bet that if the landlord hires painters, or any kind of day contractor, chances are someone is working under the table, even if their immigration status isn't illegal. (I'm sure you all withhold taxes from your babysitter's income when you and your hubby head out for a night at the movies, right?)

I think the landscaper my HOA employs employs illegals, but I have no way to know for sure and I don't plan to ask. All I know is these are the hardest working bunch of guys I've seen, they're up at insane hours doing their thing, and I respect that. The previous landscaper our HOA hired was ####### and their staff was entirely caucasian and black.. English speaking. But they didn't do much. The guys we have now don't speak a word of English but are good at what they do and that's what matters.

all you need is to keep your lawn in good shape.. and if the price is right.. why ask!??

I would'nt dare ask the employer for their employes documents..lol.. very funny!! thats kind of personal

If you dont ask to show the documents, they would probably lie..

We have no yard. My parents do though, and I'm pretty sure it's mostly high school/college students working on the lawn. However, when they fixed the roof last year, I'm gonna bet those workers were not GC-holders or citizens. Not a word of English heard...

We have a friend who is always looking to make some extra cash, so we get him to mow our lawn.

The landscapers at our apt. complex are young college kids. The gardener is a retiree who lives in MI in the summer and Florida during the winter. All are Americans.
