Should informal sources of income be considered as employment? if the beneficiary has no formal sources of income, should i list them as having 0 income? does this negatively impact our case/the form? should we explain the situation in more detail then? thnx so much!

The US does not make a distinction between formal and informal income.

YMMV

Hey Dolfishvisa,

What really matters is :

- how much your spouse is making;

and

- that you get an insurance within 30 days of your official arrival on the US soil.

Everything to show that you will not be a potential financial burden for the US social services.

If you don't work, bring the proof that your spouse is making enough money for the 2 of you (like you did at USCIS, and NVC stage)

and the proof that you are working on having an insurance when you arrive. I suggest you already have an insurance contract valid when you arrive. For the interview at the embassy, bring the proof that you are in contact with an insurance company on that matter (emails, cost estimate).

:)

You, the beneficary,  do not have to prove income as it is up to the USC to prove he/she can provide the support and health insurance for you

having no income in Morocco is ok as (if you did work that job would not come to the US with u)

Having no income does not affect the visa

what does affect it in Morocco are the following:

income of the USC

big age difference (more than 10 years with the wife as older)

many divorces

different religions

not showing any sign of commingling of finances

Moroccan has little education for decent job in US

no work history if Moroccan is male

how much time the 2 of you have spent together

prove like photos of USC and moroccan's family to show they approve
