The number for immigrant visa issued for Indonesian is suprisingly low.....CR-1 was 123 for total year and IR-1 was 65. No wonder it was easy to schedule/reschedule interview :D

That was why I got my interview date a day after returning packet 3

From the Report of the Visa Office, located at the following Department of State website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/statisti...stics_3163.html

Here are the top 20 countries issued a K visa. This includes K1, K2, K3, and K4. I thought there would be more of these issued per year, but clearly I am incorrect.

1	Philippines 7,633
2	Vietnam 3,804
3	China - mainland born 3,676
4	Mexico 3,498
5	Russia 2,100
6	Colombia 2,035
7	Canada 1,459
8	Thailand 1,376
9	Cambodia 1,367
10 India 1,324
11 Ukraine 1,242
12 Great Britain and North Ireland 1,136
13 Nigeria 1,082
14 Pakistan 911
15 Peru 819
16 Brazil 781
17 Cuba 741
18 Dominican Republic 733
19 Jamaica 659
20 Laos 590

Too bad Japan didnt make it to the top 20!But there's one good thing about it though.that means there is no backlog on my embassy

Only 911 for Pakistan? Thats depressing

Pakistan is roughly 1.9% of the K Visas issued last year. Personally, I'm surprised that Phillipines makes up about 15.6% of the K Visas issued.

You wouldn't be surprised if you'd ever been to the Philippines and dated a filipina!!! (L)

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

All the big numbers come form countries where marriahge broking is a big business.

I am assuming Mexico and Canada may be more normal.

Do not know about India, I assume mainly arranged marriages to males.

It would be nteresting to see the bias between male and female petitioners by country.

The countries high on the list are either a) sources of impoverished women willing to marry American men for a chance at security and love (not saying fraud, just saying that economics is a factor, which can be good or bad depending on the couple) B) countries which border the U.S. and/or are traditional allies and trading partners. Phillipines scores high in both categories.

Ooh, ooh, can I link to the wiki on passive-aggressive or are you guys going to grow up?

India is considered a high fraud country.

does it include in top 20 ?

i really dont think so ,

some senior vj member told me lately india is not among the top frauds

also there has been strict scrutinisation and thus it is leading to late interview dates

India is rampant with immigration fraud. However, immigration fraud from India is primarily in the work-visa categories. Secondarily, in the various family-categories like sibling (that's why they DNA test these days).

Hm. I'm a 23-year-old girl. My husband is the immigrant and I had the pleasure of meeting him in person and spending a year living close to him and with him. And I'm envious of what, exactly?
