I dont have a interview date yet but Im trying tl get ready for it in advance. I read that in my country (Spain) they ask for original birth certificate. In Spain (in other countries I think is the same) they wont give you the original as its part of a book owned by the Register.

But in the requirement for interview they make it very clear it has to be the original. When they talk about children birth certificate they say "original or certificated copy" but you dont see that option for your birth certificate.

I have certificated copies, what should I do?

In Australia, you don't have a copy of your ACTUAL birth certificate.  What you get is a certified copy of the fact that your birth has been "registered" in the "Births, Deaths, and Marriages" log in each state.  That is sufficient.  Certified copies are considered the legal equivalent of the original.

Best of luck!

They are looking for a certificate issued by the registering authority. If you paid to get that from the authority that registers births then you’re good to go. The word “copy”

has way too many nuances in English ! “ Original copy” is a contradiction in some ways! What won’t be accepted is a photocopy

The ones I have were issued by the Civil Register. Is a copy of the original and were stamped and signed, no just a photocopy. Thanks so much for clariying that for me. I was worried because they put "original" in bold letters

I see that is usual in so many countries. I have the certificated copies signed and with stamps. Thanks for answering
