Hi all,

I am considering the K1 as well as K3 Visa options for my fiancee. I am yet to meet her but I am flying over to her soon. That's the only thing that kept me from filing an I129F for her. Here is the real question:

In order to expedite the Visa processing, I am thinking of having my brother send out the application/petition to the USCIS while I am still going to be with her (Just trying to minimize the separation). Can any one advise me if this would work or if there is anything else that I am missing to make it to work.

Will highly appreciate your advice.

If you haven't met her yet, part of your petition will your future evidence of meeting in person, which means your brother won't have that information. Instead, why not compile it all when you are with her and the fed ex from there? There's no problem - many of us have done exactly that. Just be sure to use the correct address for express delivery on your service center's website.

This works for K1 but you said you were considering K3. That would entail getting married abroad. If you want this to be an open option, you'll need to make the needed preparations for marriage between a foreigner and citizen in your SO's country. After the marriage the same approach will work. You can FedEx your I-130 petition from abroad, provided you take all the needed documents with you.

I can only suggest that you slow down a little. Since you haven't even met, it's a good idea to wait until you are really together to make sure the chemistry is real. Give both of you time to get to know each other. You are talking about a long term relationship. Make sure this is what both of you want.

There is an old saying, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" that seems appropriate here.
