I-130 Passport Photos

Hi,

 

I’m uploading 2x2 photos on the online I-130 application. We took them ourselves, and used the photo crop tool which was suggested on the online form. What I’m confused about though, is that it asks for a photo of the back of the photo with our name on it. Why would we do that if it’s acceptable to use the take our own photos and use the photo crop tool on the US state gov. Passport website? Any thoughts appreciated.

Writing name on back is an instruction artifact left over from the instructions to file on paper.
