Hi All,

 

When I checked my timeline today on VJ, it said the following. Should I contact USCIS to inquire as recommended or just sit tight?

VJ estimates are based on average processing times as reported by VJ users who update their timelines.

 

I think the formula they use seriously understates the variance in processing time (it's giving you an 8-day range, when I think it would need to be more like a month to cover ~50% of cases) and of course it's a trailing indicator (it can't know things are taking longer until people report it), but it's a decent estimate. Because the range they give is fairly narrow, a bit less than 50% of cases are going to take longer than their VJ estimate even if the estimate is perfect and not skewed a bit by processing times in the process of changing significantly.
