While I agree with you on this, I think the one wildcard in the whole thing might come out of the night club relationship, and Floyd recently firing Chauvin.  If this bears out at true, then motive and intent might be on the table.

SO much we don't know yet.

Circumstantial at best imo

My biggest problem with all this massive protest to stamp out racism is, nobody wants to have honest conversations. So many Black people continue to be overtly racist and get by with statements, that if made by whites would incite riots. I just hate the double standard.

I have two close close work friends who are older black women, that I would knock you unconscious if you did anything negative towards and we often have frank open conversations about race.We openly admit that we are prejudice, which is a word often confused with racism.

They're also terrible strategists. I can pretty confidently ascertain they have lost a hell of alot more support over the last couple of weeks than they have gained. Not the way to achieve change at all if you ask me.

No doubt, and mostly that is because all of this is actually a political narrative.  Heck, look at the memorial service for Mr. Floyd with Rev. Al, and a host of Democrat leaders.  Could you imagine what would have been said if President Trump or VP Pence showed up?  The DNC loves to put on shows at memorial services a.k.a. The Wellstone memorial.  The funny thing is that he Democrat leftist governor of MN and the Democrat leftist mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul are the ones more able to effect real change at that level.  Regardless, it is all a Trump’s fault like he has the power to reform all the various local police agencies.  All politics are local, and most of what we are seeing are in areas and cities controlled and run by leftist Democrats.

It's definitely all narrative and agenda driven by people with tunnel vision who want to generalize against cops and white people and the sheep gobble it up as they always do. Seems the dems haven't learned from 4 years ago - it's funny because they are repeating the exact same mistakes that put Trump in office, and in a few months they're going to act stumped again. I have had my fair share of criticism of Trump and I'm personally not voting for him(or any other condidate for that matter - not a typo) but totally objectively I will tell you, whatever slim(very slim) chance Biden had two weeks ago is completely gone.

One of the other cops that was 4 days on the job had something like 12 priors. Don't you need a clean record to be acceptable as a cop?

That strikes me as phenomenal, and not in a positive sense.

My young 20 something neighbor boy dreams of wearing the uniform and serving others. He has had mentors inside the force get him three interviews, rejected all three times. They were looking for people with graduate work, sociology, criminology, etc and he only had 2 years of college.  He is moving in to plan B and you tell me some join with criminal records?

Co-worker Recants Story that Derek Chauvin and George Floyd Had History of Conflict

Quote

On Wednesday, David Pinney took back his account of the prior relationship between George Floyd and the Minneapolis Police officer who killed him.

After claiming Derek Chauvin and George Floyd “bumped heads” when they worked together at a nightclub years ago, former co-worker David Pinney has changed his tune. Pinney worked with both men at the El Nuevo Rodeo in south Minneapolis. He initially claimed Chauvin and Floyd knew one another “pretty well” and had “bumped heads” while working together.

Quote

But something did not click for former club owner Maya Santamaria, and Pinney has claimed that is how he became aware of his mistake. “There has been a mix up between George and another fellow co-worker,” Pinney said in his e-mailed retraction.

Quote

It is fortunate that this clarification was timely. Pinney’s testimony could have elevated charges against Chauvin to first-degree murder. If that testimony had been admitted and then proven false, the former Minneapolis officer may have evaded prosecution. Chauvin is currently charged with second-degree murder for the public killing of George Floyd.
