MSC fillers, any news about biometrics?

Nope. Same as before. One Tier 2 told me on 1/13 to keep waiting, nothing is scheduled - another Tier 2 told me on 1/22 (responding to my "urgent call back request from 1/5 just 17 days later) that I missed a bio appt on 12/28 and that USCIS has rescheduled me .. which is odd. But she also wouldn't tell me when. as she hung up before I could ask anything. I am currently writing a letter to my representative.

timeline (ROC):

06/29/2020 - package sent with USPS to Dallas lockbox

07/01/2020 - package delivered and signed for

07/08/2020 - CC charged

07/10/2020 - text message received

I have still not heard anything since June... I am not sure what my field office is to be honest, but I think its Newark, NJ. The waiting is killing me. No biometrics no notice that the first ones were used. Nothing. Complete silence.

You are not interrupting!

My FO is Atlanta. Very backed up, from what I heard. But I also heard that the FO's are not scheduling the biometrics, but the service centers. Or maybe not. Seems like nobody knows anything anymore.

I have no idea what is going on. I am currently waiting for an answer to my last "missing mail" service request - I have not gotten any answer to my last one, meaning no resending of the notice that was supposedly sent at some point, as I seem to have missed a bio appt on 12/28. I did not see any status update or received a notice prior to 1/5/2021. I am also quite confused by two diametrically different opinions on my case status from two Tier 2 officers. However, at the moment Tier1 refuses to connect me with Tier 2, as their files show that "we talked about my issue".

I can wait. But what I cannot stand is this kind of uncertainty. Have I missed an appointment? Or have I not . If not - I keep waiting. If I did, PLEASE SEND ME THE NOTICE SO I CAN RESCHEDULE!!!

Gah!

Oh I see. My FO is either Newark or somewhere nearby; no idea. I haven't seen anyone being scheduled from that office. Ugh this is so frustrating as I have not heard from anyone regarding my enquiry I made back in November.

I hear ya! This whole system is so messed up and complicated and the most frustrating part is that they refuse to change any part of it.

@izavox and @TN_Meow got an update - January 23, 2021 Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken. I am not sure if they used my biometric info from I-485 as I never got biometric appointment for I-751.

@See7 I got a notification saying my fingerprints were applied to my case as well. I think this means we get to skip the actual biometric appointment. Maybe?

I'm happy there is now an update and the case is *slowly* moving.

omg that is great news!!

I am still waiting... got nothing since June 4th. I am hoping I will get one of these notifications next. Crossing my fingers. I will be filing for my citizenship in May once I am eligible. My lawyer told me it will speed the I-751 up and obviously with citizenship we wont have to deal with USCIS bs anymore. Hope this goes fast!

Hello everyone.

I have a question, with the slow pace of approval for ROC,when will be the best time to fill for citizenship...my GC will be 3yrs in August 2021,can I apply 90days before then which May 30th..

Thanks

My husband is in the same boat. My lawyer told us that we couldn't apply for citizenship until May 30th as well. USCIS will kick it back if its any time before that date. My husbands GC will be 3 years August 2021 as well.

You can check your early filing date through - https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator

For example - if your 3rd yr anniversary of GC is on Aug 10 2021 then earliest you can file is on May 12 2021.

For documents, I highly recommend to go through an online filing route which is faster (in the sense of submitting docs and getting receipt#), simple and easy and depending on information you fill in it will ask you for documents.

Tip: You can start your application 30 days before your early filing date (because USCIS online account keeps non-submitted application for 30 days) in that way you can worry less before and see what documents are required.

If you want to go old school route then you can start collecting atleast these documents -

1) Cover letter (explaining that you want to naturalize under “I.N.A.Section 319(a)”)

[The letter should also state that you wish to have USCIS adjudicate (make a decision on) your I-751 and N-400 together at your naturalization interview.]

2) I-751 receipt (I797-C, that shows your extension for 18 months and it serves as a proof that you filed for I-751)

3) Copy of I-551 (Green card)

4) Copy of Drivers license (spouse and yours)

5) Copy of passports (spouse and yours + pages with stamps)

6) Copy of Marriage Certificate

7) Copy of Joint taxes ( or, you can even download tax transcripts from IRS website)

8) Joint Bank Accounts  - get statements (atleast 5 months) and letter from banks, if possible

9) Lease Agreement, if you are renting else joint home ownership documents

10) Renters Insurance or Home Insurance

11) Joint Car loan, if any

12) Joint Car title names, if any

13) Joint auto Insurance, if any

14) Joint utility bills

15) Copy of Boarding passes/tickets.

16) Copy of Photos together and w/ family members.

17) Affidavits (family members, or friends)

You can always add more documents and proof of your continuous relationship.

I can ask USCIS to make a decision on my ROC at my N400 interview while filing  online
