I have filed tax return for 2017 as head of household which not have my spouse's name on it. Then after my spouse came to the US, I amended the original tax return for 2017 as filing jointly married which have both our names on it. Do I have to include both of them, the original and the amended copies, in I-751 package or just the amended tax return?

If the amendment was accepted by irs, i would thing just the new one. Also, i just sent in my transcripts. Do you have two transcripts too after the amendment listed on irs site? If there is only one listed, its further confirmation that only the new one matters

the transcript for 2017 did not updated for the amended one. I still see the original one which does not have my spouse on it. but the transcripts for 2018 & 2019 show the same as tax returns for 2018 & 2019 which have both names on it. So I would send in tax returns for 2017(amended copy) , 2018 & 2019 and transcripts for 2018 & 2019. How you think about that?

I sent in 2017 as single filed and 2018 and 2019 as filed jointly. My wife was not here in 2017 so i could not file taxes for her. I tried but did not have any ss or id to work with....i dont think they will care about 2017 as long as 2018 and 2019 are filed as married filling jointly...the simple response if they ask would be well she was not here in 2017.

The second approach could be to send in both the original and an amended copy and the original with a note about what happened....

Guys Ive got some news! My extension letter is in the mail!!!!!! My lawyer received a copy of it so he was able to email it over to me before I actually receive the physical one, but it is also dated June 30, 2020.

I really hope you all get yours soon!! It seems like they did a big batch on June 30. What a relief to have this in hand. Now on to the rest of the process of course...

Our case was received on June 4th.

Thank you for being so supportive!
