Hello everyone,

I am planning to send our packet in tomorrow morning. I wanted to confirm if I need to send passport(2X2) photos with the packet? Based on the instructions, it seems like only folks located outside the country do. Speaking of passport photos, if they are using the fingerprints from before, when are they going to ask for photos especially if they plan to approve the petition without interview in a given case? I thought they took photos during the biometric appointment?

Hey @KAMN if u still in this country u don't have to send passport photos.I didn't send.Though I sent my regular photos of trips and events and other stuffs together..Yes during Biometrics they took our photos.I do remember. If we don't get biometrics appointment It means they have everything saved on their file.Good luck for your package.

Why is it when I go on the USCIS site and click on Processing Time, it shows the I-751 applications are taking 13.5 - 18 months.  People on here are waiting around 20 days from sending their applications to getting their fingprints applied.  I am kind of confused for what is taking 13 to 18 months?  Is it from applying fingerprints to receiving their NOA?  I am kind of confused

i'm interested to learn this as well. i think upon receipt of the application they obviously do some work on it (e.g. scanning, processing the fee, assigning service center and case numbers, sending receipts and notifications). sometimes like what we are seeing now, they schedule or apply biometrics around the same time. and then after all that is done, i don't know what they do with it until the next time they "touch" the case again (ie interview, approval, etc). i assume it just sits on a pile somewhere waiting for its turn on someone's desk?

I wonder if the 13-18 months (some service centers are at 27 months) is to actually to lift the condition or process the new PR card or is it just to receive the NAO2?

No, I don't think so. Or at least, I don't think the actual act of "lifting the conditions" is a months long process. I am assuming (and I could be wrong), that it is just a matter of extending the expiration date of the status in the system. As in somebody actually logging in and clicking a few buttons here and there. Now, that may take a few hours or even days for the changes to propagate into the whole system but certainly not months. Unless the other scenario that I could this of is, if their system is not digital and somebody actually has to fill out a form for each case, send that to some other department, they vet it there and then return the form with a decision to the case officer. Depending on how long that process is, that *may* take months. There are also I would imagine background checks built into that time frame and who knows how long those take. "Processing the new PR card" takes days not months, as evidenced by the production process of new green cards. After the AOS interviews for example, most people get their cards in the mail after a few days. I really do think majority of the wait time is just the file sitting in a queue until an actual person gets to it.

Which reminded me, the DMV is a great example. You wait in the queue for hours, only for your transaction to take less than 5 minutes!

Government jobs and employees are the laziest and I experienced that for years.

So with the i-751, what is the first most important event?  Is it receiving the NOA?  Because I know once you have the NAO letter along with the PR card means it's extended for 18 months.  So, may be my question should be "How long does it take to get the NAO from the date of fingerprints carried over or added?"

Hello everyone! Preparing to send package to TX lockbox on June 29th. I have prepared our joint bank account statements, joint-filed tax return/account transcripts, our joint car lease, joint car tax, joint car insurance, joint e-renter insurance, joint apartment lease, joint KP healthcare cards, joint Costco membership cards, Trusted traveler cards, Both ID/DL showing shared address. Further, envelope from IRS showing both our names, White House Corona Relief letter addressing us both, vet bills in my name to our address, water/electricity bill in my husbands name to our address, some letters from German authorities to me at our address, letters from our health insurance to each of us sent to our address (recent). Also, I have a few photos of us at activities we like to do together, and when we were at a friends/ colleagues wedding, plus some photos of us and in-laws at our niece‘s graduation party last Saturday. I plan to print out some Facebook/text messages I received from friends, inviting us to festivities or wishing well.
My dear husband thinks I worry too much and wonders if the cost of the package due to its weight might exceed the filing fee..😂 His take is: we are married, in love and living together finally after about 10 years of long-distance..that’s all we need to know. I however like to quadruple check everything.  🙄 I guess many of you are in a similar place.
We filed our I-130 and waiver of home residency requirement with a lawyer and it cost us so much money, we decided to not use a lawyer this time. The quote I received from him for filing the I-751 made me nearly fall off my chair.

anyways-TL;DR-I wish everyone a successful ROC!
