KrispyKringle, I did and after submitting it they told me I am not outside of the processing time?! It will be 3 years in June!

i did call USCIS and asked for an info pass appointment in July (my 2 year extension letter was expiring in September 2022) and I got an appointment in December 2022.  I received a stamp in my passport for another extension of 1 year. Is this why they say I am not outside of the processing time?

We received an extension letter yesterday. The extension is now 48 months. So, I’m guessing that we are not outside processing time. When is/was your appointment?

Would this be your second 48 months extension letter? Because I had a 12 months, 48 months and now again 12 months extension.

my info pass appointment was December 28th.

No, we had 18 months, then 24 months and now 48. The extension is added to the expiration of you green card. So, 4 years from when your gc expired.

Ah sorry, I had a 12 months, 24 months and a 12 months again. This is getting ridiculous of how long it takes.

Good news is we finally have an interview in 2 weeks. Hopefully, your will happen soon. Did you have a interview for AOS?

Congratulations!!! I received yesterday the letter for a 48 month extension :(  I wonder where the extension starts? When my 12 months run out? I also don’t have my green card anymore, they took it at my info pass appointment.

We applied for the spousal visa after we got married, and I lived in my home country till it was processed. So we didn’t had to go through AOS. :(

Update:  We received a letter a week ago stating we are scheduled for an interview in Atlanta next month.  We had an AOS interview about 5 years ago. Didn’t expect another one for ROC. At least there is movement after almost 3 years!

Wow. That took forever!

timeline (ROC):

06/29/2020 - package sent with USPS to Dallas lockbox

07/01/2020 - package delivered and signed for

07/08/2020 - CC charged

07/10/2020 - text message received

Feels good to see someone who was interviewed for AOS and will be interviewed for ROC; thought we were the only ones - though we don't have an interview scheduled yet-.

Please share how it went once you're interviewed and GOOD LUCK!

So, just like many lucky others, I also received a 48-month extension letter a few days ago. It confirmed that my case is at NBC, not at a processing center. Not sure why.

Anyways. While reading the extension letter, I found this: "If you have not done so already, provide supporting documents to help USCIS process your petition". Obviously, I provided all of the evidence that I could find and think of with the original petition almost 3 years ago. I also received an RFE later on asking for more documents to prove bona-fide marriage. I provided my own statement and statements from friends and my ex-wife's family members, as well as informed them that the marriage had broken up and a divorce was taken place. I told them I would send them the divorce decree once the divorce was finalized, but I haven't done so yet.

Question: should I bother send them the divorce decree, hoping it would bring up my case and someone would take a look at it?

Or should I wait until a possible interview to provide more docs?

Did you start divorce proceedings after filing for removal of conditions?

Yes. We filed June 10th of 2020, I moved out at the end of July, and I filed for divorce in January of 2021. It was finally granted in December of 2021.

So you already requested for the divorce waiver and sent the divorce decree, right?

No...

I replied to the RFE (they wanted more evidence of bona-fide marriage) and subsequently requested them to switch my petition from filed jointly to divorce waiver (I sent them copies of applying for divorce and of serving my wife the papers).
Is the only way to request a divorce waiver, to send in a letter along with the divorce decree? I am panicking right now thinking that I missed a big step in the process...

Some people wait until the actual interview to bring the divorce decree and ask for the waiver. No reason to panic.

Oh okay. Like I said, I thought sending them a letter and asking for the petition to be switched to a waiver was enough.
