My interview on the 5th of Jan . Hopefully everything be ok for you on Tuesday. I think you should apply for a permit.

The permits aren’t available yet, but everyone entering vic from nsw will need one.

I think anyone who has an interview booked within the next month needs to watch this very closely. The situation is likely to worsen, and from past lockdowns and border closures, states have required 28 days straight if no community transmission before they reverse their border policies. So, this will likely affect us for the next 28 days at absolute least.

No idea. It's something I'll be looking into this weekend once numbers have firmed up a bit more.

Hey guys, potentially a silly question..

I'm looking on the Aus Post website to try and find the express post envelope we need to bring to the interview, and the only things I can find are 10 packs for like $70.

Are there single envelopes and if so where/how to get them?

Awesome, thank you! I was worried I'd have to spend another ludicrous amount of money

Alrighty, new restrictions are coming in and it looks like most states are poised to make Sydney returnees go into mandatory quarantine, or not be allowed back at all. The next 24-48 hours we'll know with more certainty. Anyone with an interview within the next month - keep a very close eye on the news.

What if you stay in Sydney after the interview and leave directly for the US after that? If you don't return to Victoria then you can still attend your interview.

I have my medical booked in melbourne on the 24th, and I have not packed up my life - I'm not ready to leave. As per advice from USCIS. I expect there'll be a lot of people in similar situations

It's only the orange zone until midnight tonight. After that, it's a red zone, and if you come back you'll have to do mandatory quarantine. If you live in Victoria and you return before midnight on Monday, you can quarantine at home, otherwise it will be in a hotel. These restrictions are in place indefinitely.
