Hi John,  I didn't even know there was a visa status check site till after I had the interview, so I was even more clueless.   A quick google while I was waiting in quarantine in Brisbane back in September sent me to this link:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

Hope it's what you're looking for.

I've been wondering the same thing! Thanks for this.

Hi Sharni, appreciated.

John, what does your case say there? And I didn't think they took your passport if you were getting denied, I thought they just gave you the denial letter and gave your passport back then. Honestly, I can't keep up with how these things work 😅

Scroll all the way down: "‡ The All Other Nonimmigrant Visa wait time DOES NOT include K or V visa applications, which are processed similar to immigrant visas."

Did you decide to expedite your case? Not sure if you received my email? - Hope it helps.

Update on Expedite.

October 28th- Sent Expedite request

Nov 11th - Recieved approval notice

Nov 19th - Received interview invitation letter *

Nov 23rd -Recieved Date of Interview.

8th December - Interview Day

* I chose Option 1 ( to have next available interview ) with request for it to be scheduled after Dec 7th. I need time to organize the medical, for borders to open and fly to Sydney.

I was able to book my medical in Melbourne without an interview date. But did need to provide the DS160 number. Wait time for next available medical appointment was 1 week.

Does anyone else have their interview on December 8th?

Thank you! 🤗

Are you applying for a spousal visa? I think many are being automatically expedited. Appears to be a different story for the K1/fiancé visa.

I sent an email to SydneyIV@state.gov to ask if they received my reply and requested information. The following day, I received the interview date. Most likely coincidence, but it doesn’t hurt to check.

I didn’t know either that you can book a medical without a date. I explained the situation -  have an approved expedite, waiting for an interview date etc.  The staff were happy with that and explained that it may take up to 2 weeks for the consulate to receive the results. Perhaps it’s enough of a time buffer, to book in now.

The reception did say I can do the medical before or after the interview.

I chose Sonic Health on Spring Street.

All the best to you also! 🌟

Does anyone know the average passenger capacity for flights traveling now from Sydney-Los Angeles?

Are passengers spread out, with a row to themselves in Economy? ( hoping)

My husband flew United from Sydney to San Francisco last Friday. There were 50 passengers on a 250 seat plane. The day before there were only 25 passengers. You can have a whole section, never mind a row, to yourself.

We flew Sydney to LAX via United on 12 November.  The plane had probably only 40 to 50 people, the section in front of us only had two people, and in our section most of the rows only had 2 people each.  When we checked in the lady offered us aisle seats in the rows across from each other so we each had a row of 3 to stretch out/lie down on.  There were were no families travelling that I could see, and so it was a very quiet flight.

Hi All, I received the email saying my case was expedited (didn't request it) and that the embassy will contact with an interview date, I received this 6 days ago...my case status on ceac is "ready". I read on a different thread that you have to get your medical before they will schedule you an interview...is that true? I thought you did a medical after you get an interview date...Just wondering if I need to do anything or just wait for an email from the sydney consulate. Thank you for your help!
