Hi Everyone,

I received any email from NVC that my expedited approved but I never applied for expedite !!!

anyone had the same situation before ?

thanks

Hi Elsa, Yes we had the same thing happen with our case! Very strange, but exciting. I think there may have been one other person on here who got it as well. For us, we received the expedite approval email August 26, then received the offer of appointment email on September 1. We chose to postpone due to covid border restrictions.

Yeah, moved pretty quickly! No, we are actually in QLD - just trying to avoid a 2-week quarantine for my husband if possible. Because we are all here together in Australia while we do the immigration process for my husband (the kids and I are dual citizens already), we didn't feel a great urgency to go through quarantine if we didn't have to. Hopefully the plan at the recent national cabinet meeting will come to fruition, and by Christmas there will be no more border restrictions! 🤞

Hi everyone

Can anybody give me an idea of how much notice you receive before your interview? Last night we received an expedite approval, but I'm about to start two weeks of self quarantine in WA. (I am from VIC) I know we probably just have to wait and see but if anybody has any first hand exp that would be great.

You will most likely be sent an email from the consulate with 3 options for the interview: straight away, in 2 months, or you will let them know.  If you are relatively confident of your dates of being able to travel, you could ask for option one straight away, and even request a time period.  Like I did when I was given the options, I asked for straight away but after a certain date, so that I could make arrangements with work etc.   good luck.

Congratulations! I just received K1 expedite approval on 11th Nov. NVC sent case to Sydney on the 12th Nov. I followed the visa journey tip of tracking my case via DHL. ( brilliant tip, exciting to see your case move) My case is set for delivery to the consulate tomorrow! So it seems to move fast. I can keep you updated on my process.

So I’m wondering , have Victorian’s who haven’t expedited their case but been waiting to book their interview gotten their email from the embassy about making a booking yet?

We haven't heard any news on our case. We haven't expedited. Just waiting for the next stage, in NSW.

Well, the email has arrived. Our interview is finally scheduled, for December 22nd. I'm SO nervous.

Hi Erin, you will be right just be prepared make sure you have all your paperwork. With mine they seemed more interested in taking their own copies of the originals. To be honest the whole process there was a lot shorter than I had expected even for those that got approved.

Stay safe Stay Calm..

Cheers

John.

Thanks John! I think we'll be okay, I'm just a naturally anxious person haha.

My only concern is that they've given me an interview time of 8am, but....that's when the building OPENS. How the heck am I supposed to get there early so I can do all the security screening etc, if my appointment is exactly when they open? 😅

On the other hand, I'm quite thankful it's early: if things go well, I have the day to relax and call my husband from a hotel room. If things go badly, I have the day to cry and call my husband from a hotel room.

Dont stress on the 8am thing, the elevator usually opens to that floor prior, I think I was there about 7:30am. Once you et upstairs they will have the  area set up and will open once they are ready. You will find they most likely have several people booked in for 8am
