We are NOT expedited. DQ 2nd June, and today received the cancelled interview email.

Fingers crossed for you.  I have not heard of anyone  getting an interview without an expedite, but perhaps they are finally getting to them?  When I was there on 22 September they were getting through the K1 visa interviews that had been scheduled back in March.  It's possible they've caught up (excluding the Victorians on the waiting list and my heart goes out to them).

Hi Everyone,  I wanted to share this in case it is helpful to someone. I had emailed support@ ustraveldocs.com asking for the K1 NVC expedite process. I recieved this reply on October 14th. 
I have sent an expedite request in today.

Fingers crossed for us all, that this process speeds up! 🤞

I wouldn't be surprised if they have fairly caught up. I have met quite a few people through visa groups on fb that have had expedites approved since April and are now in the states.

 

I also know of 3 other people waiting for Sydney interviews (again, met through FB visa groups) that received the cancelled interview email yesterday. All of us were DQ sometime in May or June (I'm June 2nd). So perhaps with the enormous volume if expedites they have caught up 🤞

 

Im not getting my hopes up for it to be speedy now, but at least something is happening

Hello all! 
 

so after much waiting, we finally got our expedite request approved. I wanted to lay out our timeline and process for future applicants. 
 

Applied for expedite: 10/10/20

Received acknowledgment email: 19/10/20

Received approval email: 27/10/20

Applied at: nvcexpedite@state.gov

Evidence supplied: none

Reasoning: we applied on the basis of:

- emotional hardship at separation and lack of clarity for the future

- fertility hurdles that we are rapidly running out of time to do overcome 

- family members that are COVID high risk

- my husband’s business, at which I will be working after my immigration

- mental health issues, and my lack of support network in my home country 

 

 

 

Hopefully this helps someone. We’re in Victoria so there’ll be no interview yet, but I would say that by the time we get the email from the consulate we’ll have a much clearer picture of what the border will look like in the near future, and we’ll be able to plan.

My case finally moved to Administrative Processing today! A stuff up by the medical centre wasted almost 2 weeks.

 

The medical place (O'connel st clinic in sydney) put the wrong expiry date on the form, the consulate emailed them on the 15th but they never did anything. I finally was sick of waiting so I emailed the consulate and found this out today, so I called the medical clinic and they fixed up the issue over email and everything is moving along again.

 

A bit of a poor effort by the medical clinic for not doing anything for 2 weeks but at least they fixed it up after I called....

So as an update, we never applied for an expedite, but got approved for expedite yesterday.

When I log in, it now says at Sydney, not at NVC 🙌🙌

 

I know of other people that this happened to this week - I also know of two that actually applied for an expedite 2 weeks ago and are still waiting for that to be approved

Update: Visa was issued today and I was given a Toll tracking number, estimated to arrive tomorrow!

This might be a silly question but once you get the Visa you don't need any other Visas to enter the US and therefore won't need ESTA right? This also applies for those travelling on a US passport? @zochu

US passport holders don’t need a visa to enter the US. When they arrive in the US they show their US passport to customs. 

 

If the person also holds an Australian passport, the exemption to leave the country needs to be put on their Australian passport NOT their US passport.

Thank you! I’ll make sure to add that to my Aus passport then. So my partner will also be fine just travelling with just the immigration visa in his passport?

Yes and their exemption to leave Australia! 
 

visa, passport and exemption is what someone needs to leave Australia! Unless you’re American than just your passport and exemption!
