Entered the US yesterday! After 261 days my daughter and I have been finally reunited with my husband/her dad 🎉

LAX was a little busier than expected. So was secondary but I was processed quickly (probably due to having a screaming child 🙃

Air NZ was great to fly with too. We flew Melbourne to Auckland and then Auckland to LAX!

No problems leaving Australia for you’ve for the exemption too!

I wish everyone well on this journey and to all

Those Victorians waiting, I hope the wait ends soon and reunited with your loved ones 💕🥰

Glad you hear your journey went well. Also that you were able to do MEL  through AKL to LAX Ok . I’ve booked a flight into SYD late November , 2 weeks quarantine there before flying to Melbourne .. I need to see my 92 yr old parents .. haven’t seen them since early February and they are finding things really tough. But my fear is getting stuck in Melbourne !! What was the passenger load like Melbourne to Auckland and Auckland to LAX?

Wow just read an article in the daily mail saying no tourism visits to US until 2022.. true?

Yes, zochu traveled from Melbourne to Sydney to attend visa interview. But that was right before it became even stricter to cross into NSW.

Ok, thanks for the info HRQX. Is coming on three years now since this all started, hopefully an end is in site soon for us all.

Thx. I’m watching the slow steps for Melbourne lifting restrictions .. will make or break my decision to go on Nov 18.
Take care of yourself now you are in a country with way too much community spread than is good. The daily new cases in the US yesterday is equivalent to a new case count for the whole of Australia of over 4000 in one day 🤬. And you’ve come from a state where there are now 120 active cases and they are stressing about getting 10 new cases a day.  That said, I’m not sure which is the hardest to live with .. Chairman Dan or here ... enjoy your family. Glad you’ve made it !

It’s really not that bad here in the US when you put it into a per capita ratio... death rate has dropping significantly and that’s really what counts.. eventually everyone will have had the virus as sometime just like the flu it’s how it affects people that matters.

as far as it goes living with it.. I’ve been here since day one.. it’s really not that bad as far as restrictions go, just wear a mask when you go into stores etc.. outdoors no masks needed provided you stay well away from peeps

Anyone have an idea on if/when the Sydney Consulate will be doing K1 interviews? Does anyone have a K1 interview scheduled?

I know it's these are magic crystal ball questions, but any ideas on how long the backlog will be?

I’m afraid I disagree with you on that. Yes the mortality rate is lower but the overall approach of people here makes the community spread rampant, accelerating and unable to be reigned in. Because of that, I approach everyone as if they are positive .. so choose a very restrictive social life .. because most people in my area do not do any of the common sense precautions. But I have the luxury of not having to go out to work.... most people in the US cannot afford to miss one pay check. Hospital intakes are rising again .. we are now back to where we were in August in terms of daily new cases and deaths .. we never flattened the curve .. when the number of cases starts to decline as it cycles, the low we reach is double the low of the previous cycle .. and we have winter and flu season to come. More people will die than would if we were more attentive to others and not so focused on our individual needs.... older, younger, underlying conditions and also healthy.. we just seem to be accepted it as a fait accompli.. because any thing else requires a change in the majority of the community. And in the US, I don’t  have any hope that things will change.
I’m just glad my 92 yr old parents are in Australia and not here even though it means I may not see them again ..

I had my K1 interview in Sydney on the 15th, I did request and expedited appointment though. The day I had my interview most of the people there were also K1 applicants.

I can see on your timeline you have not recieved your NOA2 yet, so just hang in there.
