Small Update

Ok firstly a huge thank you to this site, for without it and the info shared I would have been in panic mode with this mornings email.

Update - expedite applied for                 Sept 23 2020

expedite application acknowledged     Sept 30 2020

today received an email -

We previously notified you of the date and time of your immigrant visa interview at the U.S.Embassy/Consulate General in SYDNEY, ASTL.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview. We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time. There is no need for you to take action at this time.

(For those like me in Victoria - I never had an appointment)

From previous posts I guess the next step will be to advise of being placed on the waitlist and the usual (due to covid we cant make bookings at this time) seems to be Victoria thing.

Hope everyone is doing well in their progress.

Cheers

John

Is it because the consulate knows that applicants in Victoria can't travel to Sydney?

Hi HRQX, thanks for your input it is very appreciated.

Yes thanks to this forum I am now aware they are not processing Victoria at this point. I just think its very confusing to most how they advise they have cancelled a previously advised appointment that was never set. After two years it makes you start to doubt yourself at times lol.

So I got approved pending my medical exam tomorrow. Consular officer was really nice and the actual interview was short. He said he is giving me a refusal notice but as soon as he gets the medical results he will issue the visa :)

Congrats, looking good.

He was also approved pending on some documents being sent in. His Police Certificate was expired and had to resubmit a w2. Getting medical done today!

If he hasn’t already paid the $325 that we did at the beginning of my visa process than he will have to pay that there I think

For anyone who has had their interview at the Sydney consulate - do we need to bring a hard paper copy of all the original evidence of bona fide marriage submitted at the beginning of the process? Or do they have all that original evidence stored digitally on their computer to review?

We submitted about five inches worth of documents with the original I-130 to the USCIS, including hundreds of photos of us over the years, emails, messages, shared financial documents, etc. Do I need to reprint all this and bring it with me to the interview?

Thank you :)
