This is still great new's even if they aren't restarting immigration visas tomorrow, cause to me it feels like we are now a step closer to that happening. I just hope NSW doesn't start to go the same way as Victoria.

100% great news. I'm in VIC and its so disappointing! If things improve though I foresee by end of July they may open up spouse visa interviews! I wonder how long the wait will be given they've been closed for a few months?

Following this forum. I wish we could just travel outside of Aus! I would be more than happy to pay the money to quarantine on arrival if it means I could see my fiancé.

I'm also in Vic so am certainly feeling that disappointment. Last night on the forum came across the link for the US embassies reopen roadmap, from how I read it, Sydney is only at phase 1 of reopening but if Victoria can pull it's head in we should jump to phase II or III pretty quick.

I was wondering how they determined the phases, I have been looking everywhere for it, thanks for sharing. Hopefully Victoria can put out their hot spots, it sucks that our process is determined by relying on the general public to do the right thing 🙄

I know! It’s the most frustrating thing ever! I think we are applying for an expedite - so wish us luck. Unsure of our chances for approval but it’s worth a shot when you’ve got a 1 year old missing her dad!

Good luck! Anything is worth a try, the worst they can say is no. I'm still waiting for my NOA2 but I anticipate that I will be stuck in limbo until they resume k1 interviews.

We applied last week. We got a lawyer last week and he put in an expedite request. Got an email today saying they are reviewing the request. My wife’s due in August. I need to be there, we have been waiting since October 2018. Had to be soon

All the best with it 🙂. I hope something changes with Australia's borders for people with family/partners overseas. The wait wouldn't be so painful if we could leave and see our loved ones and then return and quarantine.

Yeah good luck! Not sure why yours has taken so long?  I hope its approved! I can vouch that your wife will 100% need you there for the birth - depending the delivery, it can be difficult and support is needed. We just submitted our request just then. So, heres hoping. Also, heres hoping Victoria lift their game. I foresee more restrictions and maybe even a lockdown.

Best of luck @zochu and @Garghan hope you can both get you expedite approved and be with your partner in no time!

I'm unsure if anyone else is feeling this way, but I'm feeling like the Australian citizens whom are trying to leave to be with their loved one/s have been forgotten about and are in a grey area being overlooked. We're not tourists trying to leave for a holiday and we don't need leave urgently so can't apply to be expedited so where do we actually fall into the scheme of things? Would love it if any governing body could just make a statement about what the game plan will be for those in the process of obtaining visas trying to leave Australia.  *Just having a vent into the wind*

@ecw&ataj I feel the same way... I feel like us fiances are in limbo land for both leaving Aus and then in the visa scheme of things. We don't meet the criteria as immediate family members or de facto couples so they can't visit us, but we can't go over and visit them either.
